  Wonderful Stay in Rio

  We had a wonderful stay! The views from the hotel were amazing, the breakfast was great, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The location is also perfect and very convenient for exploring Rio. A special thank you to Suelen, who was so kind and helpful during our stay. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it!

  If you want to place that doesn't know how to clean their rooms, doesn't know the meaning of service, will take your towels and everything else, but not bring new ones, not make your bed or sweep the floor, but will fill the mini bar because they charge you for it, then this is a place for you!! All the food in the restaurants is fried, you have to beg, and I mean, beg to get simple things that any hotel gives you. The swimming pool is full of children under 5 all day, every day and they certainly don't know the meaning of the word "suite" or "Service". The only good thing is it's across the street from the beach.   Great experience overall with a couple of issues

  The hotel is one of the best when it comes to location, public areas, amenities, food and most importantly, guest service. Every single staff I encountered was polite and friendly. They were all genuine and passionate about helping guests. The only two downside were the condition of the room and the elevators that can have long queue. The rooms need an upgrade as soon as possible. The cleaning of the rooms is basic but there are a few blind spots suck as windows and high dusting in need of care. With that being said, if you add looking for a great guest service experience, amazing food and amenities, Othon palace is your place.   Where is the negative star rating?

  It’s unfortunate. They don’t have negative stars for a hotel. See the photos below. It took me about 20 minutes to get to the restaurant because the elevators don’t work and our programmed in properly. I got there they had just closed for breakfast so I grab some stuff from the buffet they wouldn’t even give me silverware while I ate. No coffee. No napkins. You can see the photo. After a day of meeting, I came back to my room somehow there was a puddle of urine on the floor and in the commode. See the photo if you want coffee in the room, they’ll bring you pods at four dollars a pod, which is fine I guess but they don’t give you paper cups with it so you have to save your paper cup and reuse it for days. The service is so poor in this hotel I refuse to send my clothes to laundry because I don’t know if I’m gonna get it back or not. If you pay the extra money for an oceanfront suite, at least you have a nice view and the room is clean very outdated but clean. My colleague wasn’t so lucky. He is in a room where the air conditioner looks and sounds like a Boeing 747. The windows don’t close all the way and the only view he has the building that’s 30 feet away from him. If you wanna stay in this hotel, it’s like playing roulette in Vegas maybe you’ll get a room that has a nice view, but the service will not come with it. If you’re coming to Rio for work or vacation stayed at another hotel, so you can enjoy your trip without the risk of the wrong room and no service.   Good location but tired hotel

  Great location but hotel is dirty! Staff were great but my room was not good. Mold in the showers, cob webs in the corners of the room, artwork were stained and dirty from years of neglect. My shower had a vent in the ceiling and it was caked in dust and it’s disgusting. The towels are all worn out and scratchy. I’ve seen better towels at a pet rescue.Seems like a little investment would go a long way in terms of making this place one would want to recommend.
