    The hotel has a great location, very close to the beach and surrounded by many well-rated restaurants. The staff was very friendly and attentive. During my stay, I experienced two different rooms. I arrived earlier for a bachelor party and stayed one night in a standard room. The air conditioner was outdated and not ideal for Rio’s heat. The room was somewhat old-fashioned, but the bathroom had been recently renovated. Later, I stayed in a triple room, which was much better. The only similarity between the two rooms was that the noise from the hallway and other guests was quite audible, which could be a consideration for those looking for more privacy and quiet. The breakfast was simple but had good options, including various types of bread, cheese, and eggs. Overall, it was a fair experience.

    The rooms are outdated and dirty. Bed linen too small so we ended up sleeping on a stained mattress which isn't comfortable to wake top on!Long black hairs everywhere in the broken old bathtub. They charged us extra for checking in 30 minutes before expected. They again charged ud for keeping the luggage on the last day. Not once have I in my entire time as traveller paid for storing the baggage. The only good thing is the location near to the Copacabana Beach and Metro makes it easy ti get around. But the lack of service and cleanliness breaks it.

    Great position very near Copacabana beach, very good buffet breakfast, al the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly, except oneFew things were not perfect: The buttons on the elevators sometimes they worked sometimes they didn't, making it difficult to do simple things like going to out room/breakfast area/ reception. The hotel, despite on the online reservation was confirmed that we could pay cash at the arrival, deducted to my credit card the 1st night 2 days before our arrival. Because on the day of our arrival we did not pay the other 3 nights in full, the following day they blocked our magnetic card key, until the outstanding payment was paid. I think it was very mean, because anyway they have my credit card details in case "we run away" as I mentioned to the man at the reception This member of staff in particular, working from the evening, once I paid in full in cash, he did not want to provide for a receipt. I explained I needed an evidence that I handled the remaining amount, but he said I would have the receipt only at check out. I didn't want to create an issue, but only after politely insisting I received the receipt. All the remaining staff at reception, at the breakfast and the cleaners, were all very friendly and helpful.The breakfast was very good, the only problem was that the cooked food was not kept hot, so it was only available to eat cold, and that was a pity because breakfast is one of the strenght of this hotel's facility

    WORST HOTEL OF YOUR LIFE !!!AVOID!!!!

    Avoid this hotel at all cost. Unhelpful staff they rather ignore when there is a complain. False advertising as their room looks nothing like any of the picture uploaded by them anywhere. Old, dirty, corroded, falling apart. Upon complaining through booking.com they ignored them too. Flies where coming out of the sink the very first day of stay and reception staff said I probably just left the window open that’s why. What a nonsense! Electricity has gone on the floor due to an issue which they were suppose to communicate and said they did (never happened) worst stay of my life!

    Loved this hotel, but could have been so different

    We grew to love this hotel, but it could have been so different. We booked the Real Palace about 1 year ago for a number of reasons: close proximity to the beach, refurbished rooms, roof top swimming pool and a good breakfast. On arrival we were allocated a non-refurbished room with A/C that didn’t work. In summary it was awful and very hot. We had a constant battle with a certain person on Reception who showed us 2 other rooms that were even worse and he wouldn’t budge. Finally, after a couple of nights we were moved by another member of staff to a refurbished room that was brilliant – Thank-you. The lifts were a bit rubbish, but everything else was spot on. Breakfast was excellent, the beach was 5 minutes walk away and the pool, although small was a bonus. Only 4 sunbeds, but it was never busy. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves and you can view Christ the Redeemer from here.
