Location

This hotel commands an enviable position in an oasis, surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation. It is the only hotel in the town which features a location right by the sandy beach. To one side of the hotel is the turquoise blue of the Atlantic, on the other side rise the green-covered mountains.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 18 junior suites, 52 suites, 424 single rooms and 135 double rooms located in a 26-storey main building and a 4-storey auxiliary building. English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, 24-hour room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a projector.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer and a telephone are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms, non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The pool complex ensures comfortable swimming with its indoor and outdoor pools and pleasantly heated water. Children can enjoy a special swimming area just for them. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, beach volleyball, volleyball and golf. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy water aerobics and aquafit. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, callisthenics and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a sauna, a beauty salon, massage treatments and hydrotherapy treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy an entertainment programme.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast and all-inclusive. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests serve themseves at the buffet or choose their preferred fare from the menu (for lunch and dinner). Special culinary options, such as vegetarian dishes, are also available.

    Nice hotel but far from the action

    I stayed 7 nights for an incentive for work with 200 customers. First, the hotel is around 30 minutes by taxi from Copacabana so expect transportation to get to the beach. There is no shops in the surroundings of the hotel so you need to go to at least Leblon for some atmosphere. Breakfast was ok. Honestly, I expected more from a hotel this standard. This was probably the biggest disappointment. Nice selection of fruits but otherwise only decent. Pool area and private beach was very nice. But note that the sun totally disappears from the pool area around 2:30 pm. The view from the room was breathtaking! Expect noise from the street, nearby club and ocean. Some will find it tranquil to hear the waves. I personally enjoyed it. For my next visit, I will probably find a hotel more centrally located.

    We loved the hotel. The room was great. The staff was fun and wonderful. The pool was awesome. There is plenty of shade. The beach was nice. Location was fantastic. No complaints. We went to Iguazzu and then tried out the Hyatt on the other side of Rio. Those beaches were amazing but rough surf. The Sheraton experience all around beat the Hyatt in my opinion. Hyatt was nice but sleepy. The Sheraton was fun. We stayed 5 nights at the Sheraton and 3 nights at the Hyatt.

    In Rio’s Sheraton we took a stay,gold membership let upgrades be in sight;yet status faded quickly into grey,and no perk justified the price as right.The lady at the desk, with frosty grace,had all the warmth of rules carved into stone—like one who guards a library in place,assumed a rather domineering tone.Her welcome froze before it could begin,a look that disciplined both joy and cheer;one almost felt it might be quite a sinTo ask for help—or simply to be here.The first room offered? Frankly, quite a feat—rather crumbling charm, with hairs left in the loo;declined at once—no guest should have to meetsuch relics of whoever stayed before you.Thus to a second room we were conveyed,where most of this fine tale would soon unfold:a safe that didn’t work, decor decayed—a “Grand” experience, though rather old.The bedding, too, told stories best untold,with stains that clearly had a past to share.A second colleague’s answer seemed quite bold:He’d fix it all—how sorry he was there.He’d personally ensure it would be done—a promise noble, earnest, and so clear.Yet nothing changed… until a third was wonto intervene and make clean sheets appear.The switches wore a film of subtle grime,The glassware bore toothpaste from guests before;Small details, yes—but in their quiet rhyme,They spoke of care that simply was no more.Complaints were met with promises quite vague,then drifted off into some distant void.A system being hazy, slow, opaque—while guests become increasingly annoyed.And yet—not all was bleak within these halls:Club Lounge’s staff was nice, “Bene”’s team was kind.Bright moments flickered briefly through it all—Proof better service can be found inside.
