A Wonderful Stay in the Heart of Ipanema

We booked a four-night friends-and-family stay at Sol Ipanema. I had stayed here many times in the past, but this was my first visit since the upgrade—and it was a real delight.The lobby feels modern, fresh, and beautifully designed while still warm and welcoming. The views of Morro dos Dois Irmãos, one of Rio’s most iconic backdrops, are simply spectacular. We especially loved enjoying caipirinhas at the rooftop bar while watching the sunset.The oceanfront breakfast area is another highlight—a beautiful way to start the day. We stayed in three breathtaking oceanfront rooms, all with wonderful views.The location is hard to beat: right on the beach, yet just steps from the lagoon, with charming boutiques and excellent restaurants all around.The staff were gracious, attentive, and genuinely helpful. A special shout-out to Alan Lima at the front desk, who became our go-to person for restaurant recommendations, directions, and everything in between. Comfortable, quiet hotel in a great location

Lovely hotel in a great location. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar for the views at sunset. The drinks were inexpensive and the bartender was attentive and efficient. There was limited seating on the rooftop, but it created some conviviality. The breakfast buffet was good and the view of the beach from the dining room was stunning. It's a great start to the day.Service throughout the hotel was excellent. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. There was adequate storage space for luggage and a nice closet. The bathroom was a bit small and there was not much shelf space. We had some difficulty controlling the shower temperature. Do yourself a favor and explore the neighborhood around the hotel (not just the beachfront). There were some great restaurants going a few blocks inland.
