This hotel is located opposite the beautiful sandy Barra da Tijuca beach and guests will find innumerable attractions nearby such as fine bars and restaurants, nightspots, mega shopping centres featuring world-famous brands and designer labels, theme parks, nature reserves and sports of all kinds. The nearest links to the public transport network are only 50 m away (Alvorada stop).

Facility

338 non-smoking rooms, including 13 junior suites, 26 suites and 298 apartments, are located on 17 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services include a 24-hour security service, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Rooms

Rooms feature a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning ensures comfortable temperatures. In most units, a terrace creates a particularly beautiful ambience. Meals

Dining facilities include a café and a bar. Guests can indulge their palates at the non-smoking restaurant, which features air conditioning and a separate area for smokers.     Perfect location for a relaxing break, upgraded on arrival to sea view suite.     Restaurant has major issues - lady accused me of taking water in the restaurant; also she lied about breakfast and that I could not get alacarte eggs etc while others were getting them. Rooms are not a value for the money. The hotel itself is pretty average. Lots of guys walking around with suits on and ear pieces - staring at everyone. Wouldn’t recommend and definitely won’t be back.     In summary, very disappointing. Marketing photos are a lie, no umbrellas by the pool, no sunbeds or umbrellas on the beach. We asked the duty manager and they claimed that they can't have umbrellas by the pool due to the wind but hotels opposite with the same level rooftop pools have them and from old photos it appears this hotel used to have them. He also claimed the ones on the lower level have broken. Like so many things in this hotel it appears hotel management are unwilling to invest in replacing old and broken things. The rooms are looking very old and worn, with mould on the ceiling of the bathroom, and clearly haven't been updated in 20+ years. The level of cleaning isn't great which makes it worse. Level of service and room amenities are also poor: had to call 3 times for a baby cot bed and iron for the room, and no coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms. I don't understand how this hotel can be classified 4* without basic amenities and such old/worn decor. Also don't bother trying to order food at the rooftop pool as it takes over an hour when it's busy, despite them saying 15mins, and they don't keep track of who ordered first so don't be surprised if someone else orders after you but gets their food sooner. A huge shame as the location is amazing. The hotel could make a lot more money if they were willing to invest.     Great hotel; unsafe direct booking

    We stayed here the 2nd time after 12 years.Picked a similar room as we had 1st time: ocean view king suite. It is a bit more expensive than their cheapest rooms, but EXCELLENT value for money. We had room on the 12th floor directly overlooking the waves with two windows. As the hotel and beach is to the south, you get BOTH sunrise and sunset view from your room...see photos attached:)Room is good size, reasonably fresh with only a bit of age and spots here and there. Cleaning is ok, and hotel is in excellent safe area with direct beach access.We much prefer Barra da Tijuca anyway, against the overhyped and crowded, expensive copacabana. But each to his own.Hotel itself (lobby etc) is nice, staff is great, restaurant has very good food. The cocktails of their bar at ground floor as well as by the pool are excellent quality and cheap (as usual in Brazil).HOWEVER... a big however... After booking directly via their "secure" website, via Amex card, my card details were either sold or re-used by somebody at the hotel staff, as BEFORE our actual trip began, it started being used at various (online?) shops in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and even in Madrid.I had already a 600 euro hit (in some 10 different fraudulous shoppings) before i realized and blocked it.Lucky with Amex's good insurance policy i did not lose money directly on this, nevertheless i ended up with no Amex card on my 2-weeks Brazil trip as oi didnt have the new one yet, and in general it gave a bitter taste to this stay.Because of this i have to reduce the rating.So a word of advice:Book this hotel with confidence, BUT book it via a well-known room broker website, NOT directly thru the Windsor website!     The hotel have an amazing location and a fare price. The pool have and excellent view and a bar. The rooms are old and need an update and better maintenance and an additional effort for clean better the room and the bathroom. The size of the room is good and the partial view was great.
