Situated midway between Copacabana Beach and the commercial centre in Downtown Rio de Janeiro, the area offers many transportation options including the Flamengo and Catete subway stations, which are just one minute away from the hotel. Flamengo Beach and Catete Palace are a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and the city centre and the Rio Sul shopping centre are around 10 minutes on public transport. Nearby airports include Galeao-Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport (15 km away) and Santos Dumont (30 km away).

Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 312 rooms. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a 4 or 5 star hotel, it’s more 1-2 at the most.The photos shown aren’t a good representation of the rooms. Reception area is much nicer than the rest of the hotel. Rooms very small and basic no complimentary water, tissues, wash cloths, very very basic. The bed is at least comfortable but air conditioning sits right above right hand side of bed and that person freezes.Staff, well the female manager in my opinion is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. I raised an issue with the room numbers on the door being very sharp and ripping a very expensive shirt I was wearing, and she did not care. She actually went out of her way to blame me for ripping my shirt as no one else had done nothing similar. Any good hotel would have resolved the issue,but not her. The reception staff aren’t friendly, if you arrive late no one helps with bags. Breakfast is not that inviting. There are some lovely staff but unfortunately they are in the minority. Location is not good, compared to Windsor Copacabana. Pool very small and no shade. I think you can do much much better than here and I do not recommend. Won’t return.

    Nasty and an unhelpful reception team. Also lack of health and safety as the alarm kept going off no communication and the staff were not even bothered. The authorities should come and check out this hotel… seems there is a complete lack of general management on the property. You can forgive the dated hotel, but not bad and nasty attitude.     Old crowded hotel with terrible check in process

    Hotel well past its Best. The whole place is like something from the 80s and is in need of a renovation. Not happy considering how expensive this was at £100 per night.The worst bit is poor service from staff. Reception staff not friendly and it took over 45 mins to check us in with no apology. This is a deliberate tactic from staff to delay checking in to rooms to allowing cleaning to be complete.Breakfast below average. Bad coffee and poor quality pastries. Waiting time for lifts of a morning is unacceptable.Location is ok. Few weirdos located near the hotel in the area but not unusual. 10 mins plus walk to the beach and it’s not the easiest walk to do.Room was old and small but it was clean.     We had a very pleasant week at this hotel.In contrast to other reviews I found the reception staff very helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean and all members of staff were both efficient and went out of their way to assist. Breakfast was great and the superior room we had comfortable and quite adequate for us. Underground station is right outside the hotel and the area around perfectly safe with shops and places to eat although did not venture out late at night.     Wonderful, professional like coming home, I felt looked after but able to do my own thing

    Beautiful hotel, from the moment I stepped in, I felt the welcome from the reception team. The staff all friendly, extremely smart, high standard of hygiene. I was a solo traveller and kindness has not price tag, everyone was kind to me and caring. The team ensured bags were moved in and out of taxis. The gym team were lovely and the pool was clean.
