    A 1 star hotel with 5 star staff

    I am basing this review on the fact that I have traveled to 10 countries over four continents and stated several luxury resort/hotels in 2025.My family and I stayed in rooms 1616, 1621 and 1619. The rooms are dated small and old. The bedding is old the entire hotel needs to be renovated. The roof top pool is small and basically looks like a large bathtub. When we were there we asked when the pool would be cleaned because every day we went there was a thin layer of oil on top of the water, but no one could tell us when the pool would be cleaned. So we didn’t use it. We attend the New Year’s Eve party, and the menu that they sold us was not what was at the event. There were several dishes that were missing, and while the staff was amazing, the event itself was lackluster. The entertainment did not take into consideration their an international guests because the band and DJ only played songs in Portuguese. If you don’t speak Portuguese this is not the hotel for you.Again the hotel positions itself as being tourist friendly but that is only if you speak Portuguese. If you want to relax in your room and watch a TV after a long day of being out in the sun, if you are an English speaker or speak any other language aside from Portuguese, you will not be able to do so because none of the channels are in a different language, and there are no options on the TV to change the language. While the staff is amazing - the hotel itself needs a major renovation in order to qualify as a five star hotel. The location is amazing, but that is about it.Lucas, Rodrigo, and Thuane are gems.     Great Beachfront Stay

    We had a great stay! We booked a room with an ocean view and it was large, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right across from the beach and close to a lot of beachfront bars/cafes. There is also a gas station/drugstore nearby in case you need anything! The staff was kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.     Lovely hotel, but the non–smart TV made it impossible for my American husband to watch anything in English.

    We had a wonderful stay at this very nice hotel. The facilities are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our visit.However, one issue really affected our experience: the TV in the bedroom is not a smart TV. Since my husband is American and does not speak Portuguese, it was impossible for him to watch anything, as all channels were only available in Portuguese or Spanish, with no option for English content or streaming apps.In today’s standards, having a smart TV or at least some English-language options would make a big difference for international guests.Overall, it’s a lovely hotel, but upgrading the TVs would greatly improve the stay for foreign visitors.     I stayed in the hotel for a meeting. I have asked to hotel to shorten 1 day of my stay 2 weeks ago of my stay. I have received the Ok message. Before I check out after staying 5 days they have told me that they can’t refund the money. I could have use in to hotel as a credit. First they have never told me of this during my check in and had a message with Ok of my changes. I have learned that many of other conference attendees had similar experience. Hotel has very poor design. Small/ high windows in the room that hard to see outside. No coffee or tea in the room. Air conditioner is so loud.     Great hotel in Barra

    The hotel is very good, well located in Barra de Tijouca, where you can easily go to the beach just in front of the hotel (though you need to cross the street and Brazilians are not very good at giving way to pedestrians). The room was good, the bathroom spacious enough. We were in two connecting rooms which was very helpful for us (2 adults + 2 kids). However, the view from the room to the back was not that “great”. The breakfast was excellent, and also we tried the buffet lunch and dinner a couple of times and it was very good, several great options! …. And the staff was very helpful !The pool was in the 17th floor with a great view, but the big problem is that there were not that many sunshades to avoid the very bright and warm sun of Rio. This is something that can be arranged easily if the management wants. A stone-thrown away is a Petrobras station with some shops were you can find a Pharmacy, a local store for water, and even a Money Exchange place ! ….If you walk a little there is a couple of restaurants worth trying, but remind you are in Barra not in Copacabana or Ipanema …. So it’s a quieter place and you would need to take a cab if you want to have more food options .
