  Lack of safety and accountability – a disappointing experience at Blue Pearl Hotel Sunny Beach

  We are a German couple of Jewish faith who travelled to the Blue Pearl Hotel Sunny Beach in September 2025, hoping for relaxation and respect. Instead, within two days we experienced an incident that left us deeply unsettled.During our stay, we discovered that a high-quality suede handbag had been damaged by paint marks from the wall hook in our room. When we reported the issue, the operations manager, Ms. Adelina Alcheva, reacted dismissively and postponed any clarification until the following day. The next day, she handed us a strong, irritating chemical solution to “clean” the bag ourselves – a product completely unsuitable for suede. Shortly afterwards, the situation escalated: the hotel’s handyman approached us at the reception with clenched fists and visible anger. We managed to de-escalate the situation, but from that moment we no longer felt safe in the hotel.Soon after, a comment from the receptionist – “There are too many Israelis in the hotels here” – struck us as antisemitic. It revealed not personal hostility, but a troubling shift of responsibility and blame towards us instead of any attempt to address the incident professionally.We left the hotel two days earlier than planned – out of fear and deep disappointment with the disrespectful and unprofessional way guests were treated.For us, safety and dignity should be a basic standard in any hotel. At this one, they were not.

  Fabulous Hotel

  We have stayed at Blue Pearl hotel for the last three years and every time our experience has been excellent. The hotel itself is fantastic, the rooms are spacious, beautifully kept, and many have wonderful sea views. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach, which makes it perfect to enjoy both the pool and the sea with ease. The hotel is also very peaceful, ideal for families. There are always plenty of sun loungers available at any time of day – something you don’t often find elsewhere.What really makes this place special is the staff. They are always friendly, helpful, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I cannot praise the staff and management enough for how well the hotel is run. Without a doubt, we will be back again next year!

  Bad staff attitude and customer service

  We arrive today for a day pass and quoted 75leva per person by reception and when we arrived they charged 100leva per person,The reception was not helpful or tge manager, Anywhere else even if quoted by mistake they should uphold the quoted price, We arrived at 11.15am even though the day pass starts at 7am.

  We lived the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. If we needed something like an iron they had it. The food was great. Tania one of the chefs was amazing, made us feel at home. Be back again to visit. We had great service at the bar too.

  We have just returned back from a fab 10 days in the blue pearl. We visited sunny beach last yr & couldn’t wait to return this yr. we were anxious about visiting the reviews, but don’t believe them, we had absolutely noComplaints at all. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apt it was clean spacious, amazing sea view room from the balcony. 2 toilets & 2 large TV’s in the room.We were given fresh water everyday when the room was cleaned. We had a smallFridge, to keep stuff fresh. The only issue’s was the storage, one wardrobe for 3 of us & there wasn’t a curtain for the balcony door in the living room, so the sun came In from 5.30, but it didn’t disturb our daughterWe stayed in room 3210, on the 2nd floor.Breakfast was definitely the best meal of the day, the lunch & evening meal was basic, no issues with the food, but we do like eating out. There is a small snack option( nuggets, chips, salad & sandwiches mainly) there is also a icecream buffet between 12-5Plenty of drink options, we used the pool/beach bar mainly, the barman that worked on the afternoon, was really canny. All the staff are friendly & hard working. The best part about this hotel has got to be the animation team. They have bought my daughter’s confidence on so much. Last yr we stayed at the melia in sunny beach, she lasted 40 seconds in the kids club. The 2 boys & especially the young blonde girl, from Ukraine, are an amazing. They made all the kids feel welcome. They did the hotel dance 3 times a day & Layla loved joining in. They taught her to play uno, she loved archery & playing the treasure hunt. I can’t praise them enough. Layla will really miss them. Thank you for making her holidayAnother great thing about this hotel is that there is always plenty of of beds round the pool, so no hurrying down early in the morning & the hotel have the first 5 rows of the beds on beach. The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes walk from the main square & the pier for the sea taxi. Close to the little train stop for Nessebar. We can’t wait to return, gutted we had to leave.
