  Nice staying with kids

  After reading all the comments, I expected much worse experience, hovewer me and my family were happy here ??Plese do not leave your passports at the Reception! That's under GDPR. I would recommend for hotel managment to analyse this fact. Receptionist was very unpleasent after we refused to leave our documents until next day's morning. She had to do more work!We have gotten 2 rooms on second floor, quite near the Restaurant. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed (who knows if left tips helped??). From balcony the view - there was a back yard, so no much to see, but quite.The food was really variuos and plenty to choose from. Some was my taste, some - strange taste, but that's another country! Kids were happy with french fries and some meat. Fresh pizza everytime for lunch and dinner was so tasty! Fruits amaizing! Just please change something with that SLOW pancakes making machine ?? and cucumbers - why they are so tastless here?Pools were nice, especially in the mornings when no much people. In daytime it's crowded (I noticed a lot of people with braclet for coming in paid. 40€ from 10 to 19), but plenty of sunbeds in not so popular spots. Much of toilets everywhere. My kids 7 and 9 were very happy swimmimg, small jumping in the pools, varity of them and with different deepness. Different water slides for all ages kids and adults. Pools water little cold in the mornings, and later so refreshing on hot days ??The bars had soft drinks, slushies for kids, water, coctails (alco and no), bear, coffee etc. One bar near reception had ice-creams in plastic cups, providing them almost whole day.Every some activities from Entertainment team, evenings shows - small ones, do not expect much??Black sea beach was less than 10 mins by foot. But it was much because of the August heat. And I am not talking about the prices of sunbeds and umbrellas in the beach! That's the worst thing that hotel doesn't have their own beach with free sunbeds (comparing with Turkey). But the shore was nice, with sand and the sea not deeping quickly. Water clear ?? And we visited Neseber - beautiful town! You must visit it, it's quite near (but not by foot). Went with train - each person 4€, another times - with public buses - evrytime we paid differently as much as we were told, no prices provided (6-9 € for 5 persons)?? Overall, visiting this hotel for coming with kids is really a good choice with such a price and what your familly is getting ??

  Great hotel and location, but unfortunately fhe food was a major disappointment

  At Hotel Kotva, my daughter and I stayed for a week. The rooms were clean, the staff were mostly friendly, the pools and hotel surroundings were well maintained, and the location was excellent.Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. We have stayed in many hotels before, but we have never experienced such a poor standard of food. The selection was not very wide and the quality was extremely low. The food was often cold and bland, and it felt as though nobody had put any effort into preparing it. Many times, we came across dishes that tasted stale, and sometimes even spoiled. The ingredients seemed very cheap, and the overall quality of the food was far below what we expected.On top of that, we repeatedly found hair, animal hair and even small pieces of plastic in the food, which is completely unacceptable from a hygiene point of view.The food really spoiled our stay. And it wasn’t just the more complicated dishes that were a problem. Even basic foods such as French fries and pasta were poorly prepared. The French fries were repeatedly burnt and at the same time rubbery, as if they had been prepared a long time in advance and then simply kept warm. Even my daughter didn’t like them, although she normally loves French fries. The pasta was also repeatedly overcooked and tasteless.The grilled meat was often burnt, dried out and tough, completely losing its juiciness. Even a five-year-old child refused to eat it because she simply couldn’t bite through it.If the hotel made a significant effort to improve the food and hygiene standards in food preparation, it could otherwise be a very pleasant place to stay. I don’t even want to calculate how much money I ended up spending on food outside the hotel. And of course, when you have booked an all-inclusive holiday, that completely defeats the purpose.

  Main disadvantages:Tragic rooms: The rooms smell of terrible sewage, which comes from the pools. Cockroaches breed in the rooms. The toilets are broken - the water does not drain normally.Poor food: The quality of the food was disappointing. Salads and sauces were clearly overcooked several times.Service: The reception staff are simply unpleasant and unhelpful.Fraud, pressure to help: The reservation and indirect reception are being used to deceive nasty tourists. The scheme is simple: a child just touched one car, and a completely different car fell off the shelf. The child picked it up, put it back, but it drove off crookedly again and fell. Although the child did not even touch the toy, the saleswoman aggressively began to demand payment for the supposedly "broken" item. ADVICE TO OTHER GUESTS: If you are involved in this case – DO NOT PAY! Demand an official report of the incident, provide video camera footage, demand a cashier's check and call the police and hotel management. This is simple intimidation of tourists in the hope of quick money.Be careful and choose another if you want a quiet and safe vacation.

  :"The hotel has such a low rating mainly because of the staff. You feel like you are bothering them, whether at the reception, in the bars, or in the restaurant. There is dirt and mess everywhere. It is one of the worst resorts we have ever visited."

  Horrible experience! Staff is rude and I did not see anyone smile in all 7 days. Hotel rooms are stinky because toilets are leaking. No one ever cleaned our room, only topped up toilet paper and water and changed bins. So we slept in beds full of sand from the beach all week. We had to ask at reception and they only changed one bed sheet.Biggest disappointment was that their season had finished and we were not informed about it. So there was nothing for kids. We booked this holiday to get some rest but instead we had to work harder to entertain our 3 year old toddler. No music for children and no activities. Pools were super cold, I went in only once and my boy got flu from it.Food was terrible too. Same thing over and over until it got bad like their salad cheese. They just called the meal differently. Between lunch and dinner there was nothing, only cheap croissants and cookies. Only good thing was location. Hotel is between old Nessebar and Sunny Beach town. Both ways have a little train for 7 levas per person, kids until 2 go free, and it takes about 8 minutes to get there. Good to know as you can find much better food and activities there.
