    A gem of the location and the most extraordinary art hotel I’ve ever come across

    One of the most extraordinary hotels I’ve ever stayed in. And I have travelled extensively around the world. This is an art hotel and one cannot be impressed with the art in every nook and cranny in this wonderful building. The staff were extraordinarily helpful. My room which I booked at last minute was €72 for the night including the parking fee. Because this was a last-minute trip, I’m definitely definitely coming back to spend more time with in the hotel and just admire all of the art.

    We stayed for a week, and the cleanliness was honestly shocking.On our first night, we discovered that the mattresses were badly sagging and clearly very old. The bed linen had not been properly changed after the previous guests — there was hair and black debris under the blanket, and hair was scattered all over the floor. We showed reception photos and asked for the room to be cleaned.The next day, the hair was still on the floor. Instead of cleaning, the cleaner sprayed an extremely strong air freshener everywhere. When I walked barefoot in the room, the soles of my feet literally turned black.The worst part came the day before checkout. We ran out of toilet paper and needed fresh towels, but the cleaner initially refused to clean the room because we were "leaving the next day." After reception instructed her to clean it, she sprayed the same unbearable chemical fragrance all over the bed, our clothes, suitcases, food, and even souvenirs we had bought for our family. The smell was so strong that we could barely breathe and could not sleep in the room.Eventually, we asked for fresh sheets so we could change them ourselves. Two housekeepers came to help and immediately commented that the smell was terrible. They opened the windows, wardrobe doors and room door, and were struggling to breathe themselves.Even after changing the sheets, the chemical smell had soaked into the mattress.What was most disappointing was the attitude: instead of addressing the cleanliness problem, the hotel seemed more interested in masking it with an overwhelming amount of air freshener.I have stayed in many 3-star hotels with significantly better standards of cleanliness and service.This is not what I would expect from a 5-star hotel. Very disappointing. Consider this a warning before booking.

    Very bad. No attention to detail. They ghost clients and won't bother providing a response whatsoever. Definitely not 5 stars.

    So much is wrong with this place

    So much wrong is with this place that I don't even know where to begin. This is 3* at best. No way this gets anywhere close to 5* and be comparable to Grand Hotel Millennium, Intercontinental or Hyatt. I stayed there one night on business. Arrived late and asked for iron and ironing board as I had business dinner in the evening. I was told that the hotel does not provide that and if I wanted something ironed I should go back 7am and pay someone to do it for me. Meanwhile I had to go to dinner with unironed shirt. Even 3 star hotels have irons available. Incredible....Second, the room (102) had no thermostat and the temperature could not be adjusted from within the room, neither up nor down. It was cold during the night and there was nothing I could have done. Third, no hairdryer in the room. Seriously?Fourth, no TV signal. See the attached. I gotta say that the staff were very friendly and are not responsible really for this mess!I would not go back there if they paid me. Business travellers BEWARE. Go to the other 5* hotels in the city.
