    Great location but poor experience. Convenient to walk down road to cathedral. Checked in to find air con not working, temp exceptionally hot, high 30s. Asked for different room - not possible. Knew we wouldn't get any sleep in that room so contacted our tour group emergency number. Room found.... Not good enough.Dinner was provided in the restaurant, prior to our tour starting next day. It was appalling! We stayed at the hotel again at the end of the tour and had another terrible meal provided. Restaurant unsurprisingly empty and no atmosphere - avoid at all costs. If you get a fully functioning room, we found the rooms clean and comfortable but very dark.

    The Hotel Coop claims to be five star but probably felt more like an average three star.It is in an excellent location within easy walking distance of everything you probably want to visit in Sofia. Our room was large but felt quite dated and was very dark. It was also very noisy because of the traffic on the road outside. There were several maintenance issues e.g. a leaking shower which flooded the bathroom, curtains hanging off the rail etc.Although the room was serviced every day it was three days before the bathroom bin was emptied and this was only after I had left it in the middle of the bathroom.so it couldn't be avoided. Breakfast was fine, nothing exceptional and coffee was poor. Our overall feeling was that this hotel was probably in need of some updating but fine for a couple of nights stay.
