  Beautiful hotel , rooms were big clean had a stocked mini bar , robes , slippers fluffy towels , bathroom is modern , front entrance looks amazing , had snacks and drinks in reception bar , very tasty and well priced , breakfast was great , plenty choice of anything you needed , area is quiet , walked to metro to get into centre , plenty parking at hotel , did not get time to try out the pool and facilities, all the staff were pleasant , the deal we got on our stay was well worth it, we returned to Sofia the next week but price had doubled or we would have stayed again 😢, Stanislava Karabraykova, Owner at Crowne Plaza Sofia By IHG, responded to this review Dear allanmA3157QN,Thank you for being guest of the Crowne Plaza Sofia and for sharing your detailed feedback with us.   We arrived at the Crowne Plaza for a week's stay exploring Sofia and the local area. We were greeted by the staff of the hotel and had everything about the hotel explained to us in a friendly manner.Our experience was one that we were welcomed by all members of staff from the gentleman in the car park to the staff in the Bonsai Bar, but the ladies in the dinning room where we had breakfast really made us feel like we were amongst friends and treated us so well. Our thanks and warmest regards go to you all especially Maria ( not spelt correctly sorry) and her team. The hotel was always clean and tidy, the facilities brilliant, the food exceptional, and we highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Sofia .   Superb hotel with awesome staff.

  Our recent stay at Crowne Plaza Sofia was brilliant, thrilled to have stayed at this very impressive state-of-the-art, upscale hotel. Arriving into a stunning, airy, and free-flowing reception. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and spoke excellent English. Checked in by the shift leader he was extremely efficient, informative and professional.Allocated a King premium Lake view room, which was stylish, spacious, clean, well designed, and great to have an openable window. Received a box of Lindt chocolates and some Bulgarian natural honey as a welcome gift this was a charming gesture. Enjoyed a blissful nights sleep such a comfy bed with premium linen. A long work desk with chair, perfect lighting, mirrors and power outlets, also a very comfortable and relaxing chaise lounge. Opulent bathroom with separate bathtub and walk-in rainfall shower, cool and modern tilling, fabulous huge bathroom heated mirror with LED light, super soft towels and premium Apotheke Canvas toiletries. Plentiful room amenities, espresso machine and kettle, good minibar, complimentary mineral and sparkling water, plush bathrobes and slippers and an iron with ironing board. Exceptional spa facilities, lovely large indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, quality hot tub, but shame it was broken during our stay. Plenty of pool side loungers making a perfect spot to unwind in. The changing rooms were immaculately clean, well organised and contained more Apotheke toiletries. A disappointment was the club lounge, in terms of location it is isolated, and uninviting. Did not like visiting the club room, especially as I had to gate crash a wedding to gain access!! A windowless room although aesthetically pleasing certainly not a relaxing idyllic retreat, a bit claustrophobic. Our experience of the club lounge was unsatisfactory, as a discerning traveller I feel the location is wrong and felt a total a detachment from the hotels excellent atmosphere. Hoping this can be improved for a more enjoyable experience, I noticed the hotel has many flexible work spaces which would superbly host a club lounge, currently positioned along a corridor passing by meeting / conference / and ball rooms. I thought the offerings in the lounge were inadequate compared with other Crowne Plazas, throughout the day soft drinks, tea and coffee, and well presented fruit was available, but a some crisps and homemade biscuits would have of been nice. Poor drinks and canapés in the evening but nice light breakfast in the morning, pretty average facility not worth the extra.Excellent breakfast served in A PRIORIrestaurant it offered a wide selection of food, really nice, fresh and tasty. Sleek stylish water dispenser with sparkling and still options, tasty coffee, divine croissants and the omelettes are amazing. Staff are fabulous could not be more helpful and friendly. You definitely must try their breakfast.This hotel has the Wow factor, the interior design is visually appealing and guest spaces are harmonious. I especially liked the washrooms they are simply amazingly, credit to the staff they are absolutely fantastic, everyone from reception to bar to cleaners are all very professional and friendly.Crowne Plaza Sofia is located in the a business area, easy metro access to the City. Enjoyed the hotels lakeside location, I highly recommend visiting La Tiramisumeria confectionery store with excellent service and divine Italian gelato. Ciccione Panini and pizza bar is a great place to experience some fantastic quality food with a great local atmosphere.Enjoyed our stay very much and can highly recommend it for an unforgettable experience.   Quality hotel with great service

  We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over the last weekend of September 2024. The hotel has recently re-opened following a major refurbishment and they have done an excellent job. There are many large open spaces but there is a feeling of privacy and exclusivity. Without fail every member of staff greets you as you move through the hotel and exchanges pleasantries creating an impression that you are incredibly welcome. There is a large indoor pool and outside sun terrace with large newly built sauna and steam room. the jets on the jacuzzi are nice and strong too! The hotel is located in a business area so there is not a large amount in the near vicinity although we found both an Italian cafe and a wonderful ice cream parlour by the lake where we watched the turtles (yes turtles) swimming and basking in the sun. There is also a supermarket in the business area where we bought the things we forgot to take with us. Taxi ride from/ to the airport was £7 each way and there is a metro station a 10 minute walk from the hotel which costs 70p each way in and out of the city centre. Would highly recommend this hotel for the quality and tranquility it offers within easy access of the city.
