Location

This hotel enjoys an ideal location in the interesting city of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It lies at the hub of Sofia's commercial, financial, cultural and entertainment centres and, spread over the area surrounding the hotel, guests will find plenty of shops, boutiques, cafes, discotheques and clubs. The nearest links to the public transport network are 500 m away and the magnificent Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (400 m) and the imposing Parliament building are directly opposite the hotel. It is 500 m to the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, 600 m to the Sofia National Opera, 700 m to the National Art Gallery and Ethnographic Museum and 1.2 km to the National Archaeological Museum. Vitosha ski region is 10 km from the hotel and it is 150 km to Plovdiv. Sofia Airport is highly accessible and lies only 15 minutes away.

Facility

8 junior suites, 9 suites, 17 single rooms and 100 double rooms are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by lift.     This is the first time we have stayed in this hotel and it completely exceeded our expectations. The location is superb. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Our room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The buffet breakfast had a large selection and we enjoyed being able to order items from the menu- though you need to ask staff to see it. We hope to stay again in the future.

    We had a lovely stay at this hotel. All staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Room was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good but we didn’t realise until afterwards that they also have a menu. We would recommend the Lounge and its lovely staff. Location is very convenient for all the main attractions and metro to the airport.

    A good hotel in a wonderful location opposite Alexander Nevsky Square and close to all the main activities. You can do everything on foot.The room is a good size but not very luxurious.Breakfast is very complete with both buffet and à la carte options.The hotel's concierge service works very well.Good Choice but not luxury.     Our experience was great.The hotel is very comfortable, breakfast was great (they have some Bulgarian dishes which are delicious), although the coffee was not really good (as a coffee lover, I can't help but let you know this). The staff was friendly and helpful.The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is 2 min from Alexander Nevski Cathedral, which means you open the door and 'voilà', you are exactly where you want to be.     The best 5 star hotel in Sofia!

    We have been visiting Sofia for over a decade now, and stayed at lots of 5 star hotels in Sofia. This the 3rd time we have stayed at the Intercontinental and I can highly recommend this hotel as the best in Sofia!When we stay at the IHG Intercontinental hotels around the world, we always book the club lounge, and for that little more cost you are getting an absolute luxurious extra, especially at the Sofia Intercontinental hotel. Wonderful food during the day and evening, which includes high end nibbles, canapés and whatever alcohol you want. Katerina is the main steward in this lounge and provides a wonderful service, together with a warming smile. She speaks perfect English and is the font of all knowledge when it comes to Sofia, especially if it is your first time visiting this beautiful city. Also, she makes a mean cocktail!A special thank you to the hotel Director of Operations - Mr Radoev, who is there for you, the guest if need be.
