    Perfect spacious uncrowded warm pool

    Polite smiling communicative and helpful young receptionists in the bright, light, marble-and-glass interior of Arena Mar hotel. The spa zone was ideal for us, uncrowded and of effective use and perfect fast results! The pool was spacious with dense warm water that keeps you on the surface ;) you can imagine yourself being on the beach with the photo wall of the sea and beach umbrellas on one side of the pool as a kind of extension. The jacuzzi was nice too with the soothing therapy of changing colors. I do recommend the hotel for couples as they can enjoy seclusion and comfort in the spa zone. Yes, with both thumbs up.

    Good evening!I come with a not-so-good review for the Arena Mar hotel in Golden Sands for our New Year's stay.I don't know how it is in the summer, but it wasn't okay now.First of all, the hotel is not 4 stars, it deserves 3 stars at most. The food was acceptable, not very much or diverse, but you had something to eat and at least it was fresh. The heat was okay in the rooms.Secondly, New Year's Eve was not what it should be. The hotel has 2 restaurants, and people were divided into two. That wasn't a problem, both restaurants had a DJ/singer. The fun started at 8 pm. When I arrived, the appetizer was already on the table. Then every hour, that is, at 9 pm and 10 pm, they put 2 more dishes. Everything was rushed. The food was not what it should be, you didn't really have anything to eat.The biggest problem was the way the restaurant staff behaved.Starting at midnight they started to take as much as possible from the tables, and by 1 am there was no place left for anyone to get a juice, wine or anything else. Even the juice and coffee dispensers were closed. If you wanted something, you had to buy it. People would go to the juice or water dispenser and the coffee dispenser and the head waitress would tell them it was closed, then turn her back on them. Most of the people who were over 55-60 years old left disappointed because they couldn't even communicate with her.At one point, I went and told her that what was happening was not okay and she offered me water, as if I needed water. I couldn't communicate with her. Either she didn't know English, or she was acting stupid. And I think it was the second option. It was about principle and how they treated their customers.It was not at all right that at 1 am, everything was closed and people were sent to their rooms.Some left, but some of us stayed and had fun until about 3 am, but only because there was a very good DJ/singer in our restaurant and he created an atmosphere. We wanted to show him that we Romanians have fun even if we don't have drinks or food. 😁At the other restaurant, the fun ended earlier.In the end, I DO NOT recommend this hotel for New Year's Eve or any other celebration. Maybe in the summer they are more ok, although I doubt it.I wish you a happy New Year, with many achievements and successful holidays!

    Great but towards the end a little bit of disappointment

    The hotel is very nice, the staff are very nice, the inside pool is great and warm, the family room is big, has 2 bathrooms which is great when you travel with kids, the location is great, the breakfast is great while there are a lot of guests in the hotel, at the end of our stay when there weren't a lot of guests in the hotel- the breakfast wasn't fresh every day, the bread was with mold on it, the pancakes were dry and felt old, the desserts also felt very old and dry like the staff didn't threw it away and just keep putting them out over and over again every day

    We stayed here at the end of September for 5 nights. The hotel was quiet due to it being the end of their season which meant a lot of the local shops, bars and restaurants has closed (no fault of the hotel, we didn’t do our research and assumed the season would continue into October - something to be mindful of if you’re booking in 2024). The food and spa were the highlights of our holiday. The spa staff were super friendly and helpful and we made sure to make use of the facilities and treatments on offer. Would recommend the Turkish bath, it was incredible! The price of the treatments were so cheap compared to the U.K. you can pay cash or card which is handy too. The food was so flavoursome and we had something different each night. If you’re a fussy eater or expecting 20+ difference choices this isn’t the place for you. There was enough choices but each dish was delicious and the cakes were little mouthfuls of heaven. Overall the hotel was very modern and clean and is in a great location to walk to the beach. Even with it being quiet we felt extremely safe strolling around. Down by the beachfront there are some lovely shops and bars, it’s a lovely easy stroll. We took the 409 bus into Varna (approx 45 mins journey) and hired electric scooters to explore. We’d recommend wandering the garden, it’s beautiful and lots for kids to do. The staff were generally very helpful, a big shout out to Vanka (I hope that’s how you spell it) on reception who was extremely helpful in trying to sort an issue with our transfer back to the airport. Only negative experienced were the cleaners were slightly rude and staff weren’t always at the bar around the pool, we imagine this was down to it being out of season. We would definitely return to the hotel and make the most of the spa and facilities again next year.

    Great hotel very modern and clean and fresh not a very old building. I stayed there because the hotel next door had booked me in but was closing for the season mid week . So they arranged my accommodation at this wonderful Area Mar great location great food all staff very very friendly and helpful can’t fault the place great Ukrainian bar lad and young lady thank you
