The G5 Sahel Summit made it challenging to find accommodation. We have to be glad we found anything decent and safe...The breakfast was fine and tasty. The room rather basic and requiring tlc and renovation.Price level four stars, not realy justified.

Good hotel, needs better reservation coordination
16 Jul 2018
I was pleased with the service provided by Splendid Hotel Ouagadougou, and would have given it 4 or 5 stars if not for a couple of issues:1. I sent a number of emails to the reservation staff asking to arrange the hotel's complimentary airport shuttle to pick me up from OUA airport upon my arrival. However, none of them were answered, which is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.2. I booked my reservation on amoma.com, who dutifully issued a booking voucher for me. However, when I arrived, the hotel staff could not locate the reservation, and it is only after some help from the general manager that they located my booking. I understand that AMOMA is not the most frequent website used by travelers to book hotels, but this kind of poor coordination on the part of the reservation team is not acceptable either. Having said that, the room was (Very!) comfortable, and I had a very good night of sleep. The Wi-Fi worked well too. Security outside is also professional and well-equipped.In short, Splendid Hotel has great potential to achieve consistent 4 or 5 star reviews. However, some rough edges need to be ironed out (especially in the reservations and front desk team) before it achieves its fullest potential.

2 days and nights at Hotel Splendid

The room was comfortable but did not have any tea or coffee making facilities , which is unusual for any hotel purporting to be a quality hotel . There was not even a bottle of water so that after getting to my room after a late arrival I then had to go down to Reception and persuade them to get me a bottle .Breakfast was not organised . I had to ask for cold milk for cereal and fruit juice which had run out . The dining room staff are not well trained and the variety of food was poor .The best thing about the hotel is proximity to the airport .
