    A nice hotel

    rating21 Feb 2025

The hotel is a good location, right outside the royal palace and it’s not far from everything else. The room was nice, we didn’t have any problems with it at all. Our only issue was with it being in a good location for what we wanted to do, it meant we were on a main/busy road, and as Phnom Penh is a busy city the roads were noisy all night so i’d recommend getting some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. We honestly found the noise quite funny and apart of our experience so it didn’t bother us a huge deal, only when it woke us up which wasn’t often. There are plenty of shops and pharmacies around so it’s easy to get any necessary items. There is a cafe downstairs as well which serves lovely food and drink. Just beware the steps in the hotel are rather narrow so when carrying your bag up and down it’s a bit of a pain but it isn’t that bad.

    Worst Room in Phom Penh

    rating31 Mar 2024

The booking site said the room had tea/ coffee supplies and fridge. It had nothing. The floor was clean but the wall paint was dirty and shabby. The door security lock was broken. The ceiling was broken and damaged in places. The stairs up to the rooms were at a really steep angle and dangerous at night. OK so the room was cheap - $15 a night - but thats no excuse for such bad advertising and poor maintenance. There are many better places for the same price. Also the cute girl in the office booth short changed me by a about 2 dollars but I didnt bother arguing - she was very pretty.

    Stay away

    rating25 Feb 2024

Horrendous, the photos of the rooms on booking.com must be when they last decorated 10 years ago. Rooms was tiny, walls were stained and dirty. Filthy! Ceiling was damp, shower had a place where the window should be but was just a price of cardboard instead which has a convenient hole in so someone can peak at you having a shower from the outside!!!! No towels, just disgusting

The SECOND WORST PLACE I've ever stayed

    rating02 Dec 2023

Not the worst but probably the SECOND WORST guesthouse experience I have had in half a century of traveling. The room has a table and a bed. It would be a pretty room if the walls weren't stained. But that's it. Period. No towels, no wastebasket, no place to hang clothes, no chair nor stool, no electric kettle, no place to complain. There's a little cubicle at the base of the stairs with brochures plastering the windows. When I arrived and asked if this was the RS II (because its where the tuktuk driver dropped me off when I gave him the address), some guy motioned me to stay. In a few minutes another guy showed up, got into the cubicle, looked me up on the reservation list, gave me the wifi code, and then showed me where the room was, up on the third floor, facing the palace gardens. There is no counter staff, no lounge, no room cleaning. The room key is zip tied to a placard with the room number on it and another bar shaped placard that lets you access the electric when you're in the the room. Its bulky and takes up a good deal of space in one's pocket. On the other hand, the room has air conditioning, a firm bed without bugs, a western style toilet and its in a good location. It has the makings of a decent place to stay, if only there were someone working here who cared.

    Throwback

    rating23 Jun 2022

If you judged a place on its residents this place would be condemned. Home of the homeless barang and dog,s apparently. Maybe next door is better. The dude at the front kiosk wasn't having a good day. 178 makes 172 look like Bassic Lane. If you are a young backpacker stay in a clean hostel.
