  Worst stay at Delta Hotels Marriott Sault Ste Marie Ontario

  This has to be one of the most outdated hotels that I’ve stayed at in a long time. I’ve stayed at other Delta hotels Marriott, and farthest is the worst. I know they’re doing renovations, but they should just have not even rented the rooms. They are overpriced for no reason right now. I would stay away from this hotel until they finish the renovations in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. The bathtubs have rust in them. Unreal. How do you let this happen?   Noisy night with outdoor concert next door

  We experienced a very noisy night up until 11 pm with a concert taking place right next door. If it's important for you to get early to bed, I'd suggest that you look into what's happening on the waterfront that night before you book'

  Clean, well maintained, with plenty of amenities - but four-stars this hotel is not.

  I'll start with the positives. The hotel is in a convenient location, within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shopping. There was plenty of parking and you can directly walk onto the boardwalk from the hotel parking lot. The staff I interacted with were all attentive and friendly. The common areas of the hotel appeared well maintained and clean. My room was also in a good state of repair and was clean. The bed, pillow, and sheets were all very comfortable. However, some things just didn't meet my expectations for a four-star hotel. My room was the same size and had the same layout as any standard room in a budget motel; which is a far cry from the rooms I am accustomed to at other four-start hotels. My room had a wall-mounted air conditioner, which I would expect in a budget motel. This is the ONLY four-star hotel I have ever stayed at with wall-mounted air conditioners. Every other four-star hotel I've stayed at have had the quieter "closet style" HVAC units (I'm sure there's a technical word out there for them). The bathroom was absolutely identical to your average budget motel room bathroom. Now here is the bad... The noise in my room was absolutely outrageous from 9pm to 1am every single night of my stay. The parking lot of the mall and adjoining street next to the hotel are used by car enthusiasts, who gather at night to play incredibly loud music, do burn-outs, race, and do donuts. Anyone who doesn't believe me is more than welcome to look at the tire marks on the street and in the mall parking lot. The noise was so loud at times my window shook. One night, the smoke from the burn-outs even filled my room - on the sixth floor! While these gatherings are not the hotels fault nor something the hotel can control, they had a huge impact on my stay and inability to sleep. Since the hotel was sold-out during my stay, switching rooms was not possible. Travellers need to be aware before booking this hotel. If you are bothered by incredibly loud noise between 9pm and 1am, you're definitely going to want to avoid a room that faces the mall or the street next to the hotel.

  Disappointing Experience – Not Up to Delta Standards

  As a loyal Marriott customer, I typically prefer to stay within the Marriott group of hotels, with Delta Hotels being one of my top choices for their premium standards. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Delta Hotel in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was extremely disappointing—easily the worst experience I’ve had at any Marriott property to date.From the moment I checked in, it was evident that this hotel is in serious need of upgrades and renovations. The room I was initially given had worn-out furniture, stained upholstery, and a strong, unpleasant smell of urine coming from the bathroom, which raised immediate concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. The condition of the room was unacceptable, even by the standards of a budget motel, let alone a premium Marriott-branded property.I returned to the front desk with my luggage to request a better room. While the staff did assign me a different room, it was on the ground floor, right next to the Boardwalk. Unfortunately, the constant foot traffic and noise from outside made it impossible to get a good night's sleep.To make matters worse, the front desk staff was neither empathetic nor particularly helpful in addressing my concerns. I do want to acknowledge that Manager on Duty, Rose, made a sincere effort to improve the situation, but it was clear that she was limited in what she could offer, given the overall condition and limitations of the property.In summary, this hotel does not meet the standards I have come to expect from Delta or any Marriott property. I will not be returning to this location and would strongly urge Marriott to review the condition and management of this hotel.

  A great place to stay

  A lovely place to stay, this beautiful hotel is on the river with fancy steakhouse restaurant, patio area, pool and luxury hot tub area. Upgraded workout room, hallways and common spaces, plus a convenient Starbucks in the lobby. After a long day of travel, this will be a welcome and comfortable place to rest with excellent customer service! Walk along the boardwalk near a Farmers Market area, park spaces and just enjoy the river views for fresh air. Highly recommend!
