Location

This hotel is built around Kempenfelt Bay, located on Lake Simcoe in the heart of the Georgian Lakelands. It is located approximately 90 km north of Toronto via Highway 400, a six-lane, controlled-access highway that runs directly through the city of Barrie, placing it on Toronto's doorstep. Barrie has something to suit all tastes, including a large selection of eclectic dining establishments and ethnic restaurants featuring culinary creations from around the world. The nearest shops are around 2 minutes’ drive away. Nearby places of interest include Barrie Molson Centre (around 5 minutes’ drive), Georgian College and Maclaren Art Centre (each around 20 minutes’ drive) and Simcoe County Museum (around 25 minutes’ drive away).

Facility

The hotel has 28 junior suites, 9 suites, 4 single rooms and 41 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. Check-in and check-out are possible at any time at the 24-hour reception desk. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday.     Very dirty room, broken bathroom door handle and broken bed. Told we would have to just sleep on bed with broken box spring as the hotel was fully booked, the could not give us a different room and it could not be fixed during our two night stay.     They room was never cleaned. Left chicken bones on furniture, sticky floors and sticky tables. Shower floor was disgusting.

    Great location, fine breakfast and staff that never stop smiling. Beds were comfortable and lots of parking, although it would be great to have 1 more handicap spot. We have stayed here 4 times and when we come to Barrie, it's a no brainer where we will stay.

    Fast and friendly service. Quick check in, clean room and bath facilities. Parking was a little tight but adequate. Seamless check out and breakfast.
