  Great location and value right by the airport. The staff are extremely friendly and service is exceptional. At check in it was fast and the desk lady was very nice.The room is large and clean with nice bathrooms. Hotel is very modern.

  Terrible front desk service. Line-ups to check-in, ask a question, get water backed up to the entrance. Poor, poor, poor staffing. The rates sure don’t reflect that.   Overall experience terrible.Upon arrival we entered our room and were hit with an overwhelming waft of urine. The smell appeared to be coming from the bathroom. Which unfortunately didnt have an actual vent fan. We immediately went down stairs to inform front desk. Front desk basically waved it off. We went back upstairs to continue setting up our room with the help of two air freshners from our truck.We then went to looking at the rest of the room. We noticed there was no towels. No Extra bedding for the pull out, No extra pillows. And to top it off the crib was no where in sight. So i found myself back down at front desk requesting these items.moments later we were approached at our suite by two cleaning ladies. Telling us there is towels in the room, And that we needed to get them from front desk. Upon telling them repeatedly to come inside and show us where they were. They finally decided to go back and get the towels which were requested. When i told them there is no bedding or pillows. They then tried the "Please talk to front desk" To which i told them i already have talk. Alas 45 minutes later, we finally have a pull over sheet and a fitted sheet for the pull out. No crib and room that still smells like urine. We decide to head back down to the front desk, on our way to the pool and inform them again. That our room still smells like urine. We have not used the bathroom in our room, and would like something to rectify this situation. They then began to reassure me something will be done. And that the smell of urine is unusual. To which i fully agreed. A hotel such as a IHG hotel, Smelling like urine. Not the norm.We then spent about an hour and 40 minutes in the pool. During which time a young lady got a bloody nose, After administering first aid. i approached the front desk YET AGAIN. This time it was told to me they were still working on fixing the smell of urine. I thought "Great i dont need to repeat myself", But im not here for that. A young lady got injured in your pool and ended up bleeding all over the pool deck the door the washroom ect. This should be cleaned up immediately as its technically a high risk pathogen. To which i was told again, We will get someone right there. As no blood actually hit in the pool, We continued swimming while reminding our small children not to approach said area. 25 minutes go by, Still no one has came to fix the blood. At this point the stuff on the wall is dry. And the stuff on the ground is now formed a small tained puddle. We decided to head out of the pool. When we went to the towel basked. NO TOWELS. Again i found myself soaking wet at the front desk. asking for towels for myself and my 3 kids and wife. Only to be told each person needed to come up to the front desk to get a towel thats not supposed to leave the pool. *Face palm*It was at this point i thought to myself this damn hotel doesn't give a crap. So i marched my dripping kids all the way through the hotel to my room. Soaking feet ect. Was this disrespectful, ABSOLUTELY but paying close to 300$ for a room that STILL SMELLS LIKE URINE and begging for simple things had me downright irate.It was at this point i tried to shower my kids. Get the pool off them and rid them of the salt water from the pool. Only to find the damn shower doors are installed incorrectly. So they don't close 100%. Which is almost a happy mistake. As the smell of our own shampoo started to override the smell of URINE that once took over the bathroom. After my kids and my wife showered. I then took matters into my own hands. Fix the damn shower door. I removed the shower from the same rail and put it on the approriate rail to prevent the doors fasteners from rubbing against both doors. Why anyone would do this befuddles me. But alas the doors are fixed and the smell of urine(At this point) didnt completely over power the room. So were working towards a small victory.It was at this point the front desk got another call. Whats being done about my room smelling, This shampoo wont last forever and i want a permanent fix. There is no bathroom fan, We cant just close the door and turn on the fan.About 10 minutes after that call the front desk attendant showed up with some febreeze(Lavender) to have me spray the bathroom. As i looked at the bottle i stated "Lavender, Great now i can die of allergies but atleast my room wont smell like piss". I then tried to welcome the young man into my room. To show and demonstrate the absolute discusting mess my room is in. To which they declined but stated theyd have the manager contact me.By 7am i went back downstairs to get the free continental breakfast i was supposed to get. Only to be hit with another "You dont have a voucher, Please see front desk they should have given you one. Me absolutely tired of dealing with the front desk decided id rather smash my head against the wall until i died before i put myself through that BS again opted to just pay for the damn meal. BONUS MY KIDS ATE FREE.... So i was only out 33$ ontop of my almost 300$ hotel room.Needless to say this stay was one for the books. If you want to pay 300$ to stay in a mediocre hotel, This ones for you. There is AIR BNB's with cheaper rates that are cleaned better than this hotel.   Amazing service from the Holiday inn staff members. Everyone is very friendly at the reception and restaurant. The rooms were big and clean. Hotel is good and close the YYC airport.
