    Great hotel, too bad about the vagrants

    We liked this hotel. We visited during Volleyball Canada Nationals for U17 age group. We walked to venue. Parked in the lot across the street. The heartbreaking thing was the homeless people outside- what a shame. Sad to see people struggling. Everything else about the hotel was good. I used the hotel self-serve laundry. You could buy pods at the front desk for $1 each which is much appreciated, and convenient. The machines are $4 for each load wash, $4 for each load dryer. The free breakfast was good. It was busy during breakfast when we were there. Bed was comfy and pillows were on the softer side. Room was clean.

    I really enjoyed my stay at the Homewood Suites. It’s in a great location—it’s easy to walk to the Saddledome and explore downtown and the tower. Warm welcome. The room was spacious, very clean, with a kitchenette. The only downside—and why I gave it a 4—is that we arrived late and it was very cold in the room, and it was hard to adjust the temperature since we went to bed right away. On the first morning, we went down late and there were no more muffins or pastries. On the second day, we didn’t have time for breakfast since we were leaving for an excursion, and on Sunday, breakfast starts later.     Nice hotel in an unsafe area - avoid if travelling with kids!

    We booked this hotel for a 3 night family stay in March 26.Pros : the hotel is nice, with great kitchen facilities. Pool area is great and well maintained. No complaints about the room.Breakfast is ok and staff could be friendlier.Cons: We felt very unsafe walking to and from the hotel as there are many homeless people around. Round the corner there is a Salvation Army building where many congregate.The hotel has to keep doors locked because of these issues. Entry is obtained via a button. The hotel has security staff but from what we saw, this has very little impact.We were staying with kids and it felt very intimidating passing people outside who were openly using crack pipes. The hotels in a difficult spot as it is difficult to manage these issues. That being said, I would not recommend staying here if you have kids.

    Violent area and Double charged and petty b 5 dollar charge for water

    There is a huge homeless population next to the hotel. My husband witnessed a violent incident by the hotel. After I checked out the hotel double charged me. And they have a deceitful charge for water. It is pure pettiness. I am so disappointed. I cannot speak to a manager till tomorrow,

    We have not long returned home after a lovely 7-night stay at the Homewood Suites.The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from Calgary Tower and Downtown. The rooms are clean and very spacious with good self-catering facilities.The morning breakfast had some odd (from a British point of view), yet very tasty options. The only downside was that the waffle maker was terrible and constantly out of use as nobody seemed to be able to use is correctly, inclusing myself!The staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions you had.Overall, I would absolutely at this hotel again as a travel agent, would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my customers.
