  The worst - and Alex the manager is the worst

  I have more than just a complaint but a serious safety concern regarding the manager alex - he is dangerous and a extremely unstable vloIent raclst don’t understand how he’s even hlred really shouldn’t be allowed around people

  Excellent hotel has pool and hot tub as well as free breakfast. I would record this hotel to all staying in Calgary. It was awesome.   Very clean, lots of in-room and out amenities at a decent price point. Well insulated and felt safe as a solo traveler. I’m not sure what more I could want out of a hotel room.   Spend the extra $20 per night and get what you paid for somewhere else.

  Despite having completed pre-arrival check in early on the date of arrival, the hotel had charged the credit card provided the 1 night penalty as a “no show” and re-sold our reserved room over 2 hours before my indicated arrival time. Staff attempted to cover this up by assigning me a different room, however the credit card record I obtained from the front desk on my checkout date makes the issue clear. The record shows the “no-show” charge was placed early, then refunded upon arrival (which was 37 minutes BEFORE my indicated eta.)The staff at the front desk seemed confused at our arrival and made several attempts at booking me a different room. (I received 8 separate ‘confirmation’ emails while standing at the desk. )I was made to pay a $200 deposit along with the full booking price up front even though credit card information had already been provided for payment of the stay and incidentals. In the end, we were put in a terrible room in which the entry door was from outside but would not easily latch on its own, lending to security concerns.The room had several items in disrepair including a damaged electrical outlet, exposed cut edge of drywall, poorly functioning toilet and sink, wall base loose, and was generally not well put together. People in neighboring rooms sounded like they were in my room with me, making it obvious that noise remediation is extremely sub-par. The advertised “breakfast buffet” consisted of making your own waffles or having a bagel,muffin, etc (continental breakfast) and pre-cut fruit and berries sitting in a pool of their own juices in open air (no thanks). No eggs, meat, yogurt, or protein in general. (Cleanliness of the room was acceptable, despite the numerous issues with maintenance and appearance)Access to the pool was 100 meters across the parking lot to reception area in -20 weather. (We didn’t use the pool, needless to say)I was not given an honest explanation of the hotel’s error in my reservation, nor was I offered any monetary discount to the rate I had pre-booked when I raised concerns with the front desk.
