Pretty good, but some issues living up to Hilton standards

    rating20 May 2026

Pros: Location. Away from the busy part of town. Staff very friendly. Lobby area well kept. Breakfast good. Loved the fireplace in the room. Comfortable bed, sofa. Cons: 3rd floor - icemaker has rust around it, the ice I got tasted weird - when was the last time it was cleaned?? Hallways always hot - saw the temp was always between 78-82 degrees, so when walking to my room, was sweating a lot! I stayed in the 319 suite - had some issues that I did bring attention to staff about. in tub found dead bugs, the jetting part didnt look that clean, so decided not to use it. Decor - one of the pictures needed repair, tape falling off (not a big deal, just a thought). Shower tile had dirt on it - took a wipe and removed some of it - needs a good spraying and brush. Bedspread looks very worn out - needs replacing. The TV next to the bathroom needs to be smaller as it is sticking out beyond the wall - kept running into it going to the bathroom. Needs more usb ports - only one on the desk and wanted to charge my phone next to the bed. Living room lampshade needs to be replaced or clean - there were 2 large dark spots on it. Lightbulb in fan over the bed needs to be replaced.

    Rude front desk staff

    rating21 Oct 2025

I requested to be on the first floor back in August for my October stay, which they claimed to never see. So I was moved to a studio suite (from a one bedroom) which was fine. I had to go back the next morning to talk to front desk about change of rate. The RUDE front desk person just scoffed at me that it wasn’t even that much of a price difference. Like I shouldn’t have even come to bother her about changing the rate. I told her as soon as I checked in last night that I did a mock reservation so I knew what the price difference was going to be and she wouldn’t accept the rate. Accused me of using a different property for that rate because she couldn’t find that rate. She kept going back to talk to the manager who couldn’t even bother coming out to speak to me. I requested to speak to the manager after we came back from our appointment. She wasn’t any friendlier with her forced fake smile, just told me the rate is what they changed it too. She emailed me the next day after my husband left a review. So I replied at how rude the front desk girl was. No reply. Not surprised. We won’t be returning, just sorry I wasted a week of my time at this hotel.

5 star hidden gem. Amazing staff and facilities. Must stay!

    rating14 Sept 2025

I had an Amazing 2 night stay with my elderly parents for their 49th wedding anniversary. The staff were Awesome. Namely Madilyn, Elizabeth and Lori. All other staff were great too but I don't recall their names. I booked a room with two king sized beds and a separate living room with pull out couch. It had a full kitchen as well. The first night my parents were sleeping in the bedroom but for some reason the AC in there was super loud so my dad turned it off. This angered my mother as she was hot all night. I too went to leave the room late a night and noticed the room door was way to squeaky. When I woke up I asked if maintenance could bring some WD40 for the door, which he did and it solved that issue. I didn't find about the AC until my parents told me later in the day. Front desk texted me to see how things were and to rate them on a scale of 1-5. I responded with 4 and mentioned I did say 5 due to the AC issue. They apologized and said they will look into it. I kind of assumed they meant they'll look at it once I check out. I was pleasantly surprised when we returned from our day out that they actually came in the room and fixed the AC. So I responded on text thanking them and changed my 4 to a 5. It really was a 5 star stay. My mom loved the pool. Free Breakfast daily was quite good. One downfall (but I was expecting it, as it happens in every hotel I go to. The pull out bed was terribly uncomfortable. I knew to check it as soon as I arrived. I laid on it for a second and was all "Yeah I'm not sleeping on the...lol" I just ran to Canadian tire and bought an air mattress. I was so comfy" But the best part, and awesome customer service happened the morning I was checking out. Madilyn handed me a card, I opened it in the room and it was a lovely happy anniversary card for my parents with an amazing, small but thoughtful gift inside. Definitely stay here if you go. I love the Homewood suites brand, and they %100 met the brand standard and exceeded it. Great job team. We'll see you next year. We come for a few days each year to visit family.

    Great Stay.!

    rating03 Aug 2025

We stayed here for one night after our visit to African Lion Safari. This hotel is charming and has great amenities, including an indoor swimming pool, a gym, and a basketball court. What I loved the most was the outdoor seating area I really enjoyed sitting there and taking in the nice weather. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a pull-out bed, which was great for the kids. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, making our stay even more convenient. There’s also a small grocery next to the front desk, but they only accept debit cards. The hotel offers free breakfast with a good variety of options. The restaurant staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Alona at the front desk was especially warm and welcoming. If you’re planning to visit African Lion Safari, the hotel is just a 20-minute drive away.
