    Will be back next year

    rating24 May 2026

This was our second year staying at Emerald Lake Lodge with our dog, and we loved it just as much as the first time. Our cabin was cozy and pet‑friendly, the location is unbeatable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind. The only downside this year was the cost of food and souvenirs. The restaurant prices felt high, and even simple takeaway items were expensive — $20 for a sandwich to go was surprising.Overall, we still love the lodge and the setting, but the food pricing is something to be aware of.

    Stunning

This was our last stop, as a family, before flying home and it was nothing short of magical. The location of the lodge feels like you are having a unique private experience of the most beautiful lake. Renting a canoe at the bottom is a must. The guys that run it are so kind & friendly. If you are driving keep your eyes on the left of the road leading to the lake, there is a sign for guest parking, where you are collected by a shuttle. We missed it, drove up & caused chaos !The main lodge that is featured in publicity pics contains, the reception, lounge, bar, restaurant & function room. Wi-Fi is only available here.Rooms are situated 4 in a chalet, all with lake facing balconies (Fir trees block the view from some). Chalets are dotted around the area. Staff ferry bags to the accommodation with small buggy's, that you can catch a ride on with your bags, if walking is an effort. The restaurant is outstanding. You are in the middle of nowhere, which makes the experience so serene. It is busy with tourists stopping off at the bottom, but that doesn't affect your stay. There were a couple of incidences for us as a family, where the staff were quite unyielding and could have been more readily accommodating, but they were situations of our own making and they were solved in the end.Otherwise an incredible experience that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Amazing location and worth the expense. Everyone was very friendly and would stay there again. The shuttle service was easy and the driver was informative and helpful.

    Disappointed

Disappointed Overall Hotel and grounds run down. Needs updating False advertising on web page and brochure. Pictures did not match experiences. One little hot tub that holds 8 people for a resort that size is not acceptable.

    Not worth the cost

    rating16 May 2026

We stayed here for one night on May 8th. The property is amazingly located, the rooms are nice and clean, and the amenities are good. It was quite disappointing that we paid extra for a lake view room, and most of the view was blocked by trees. I read this on other reviews, and thought it might just be a couple that were blocked. However actually going there it seems almost all rooms are blocked by trees except one cabin. It seems like quite false advertising and they should instead say partial lake view. All the staff at the hotel were working their first week there, and while I understand everyone needs to start somewhere, it seems like our service experience was mediocre, yet we paid premium prices. No logs were placed in fireplace for an easy start (standard with AirBnbs/cabins), the log basket only had one in there so we had to refill it immediately, the conditioner was old and separated into a liquid and no proper conditioner came out, lots of work going on the main front building so it was quite noisy, lamb wasn't cooked properly, only soap and conditioner in the hot tub change room, no shampoo, there was no campfire going, patio chairs cheap. While these are all seemingly minor, if you're paying that much for a room, you expect to be getting the quality to match that, which just isn't the case. I'd save your money and stay elsewhere as you get a better view of the lake from the visitor areas and public trail and will probably get better service elsewhere.
