Situated among the snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, the hotel stands as a world-renowned symbol of Canadian hospitality since 1888. Its blend of opulence and seclusion has been an emblem of Rocky Mountain majesty for more than a hundred years.

Facility

The complex was built in 1883. 770 non-smoking rooms are available to guests in a 9-storey main building and a 4-storey auxiliary building. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well. Complimentary newspapers are available. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is among the standard features of some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features.     Outstanding views.

    The hotel is magnificently located, offering stunning views from the windows that are truly breathtaking. The location is very convenient, with easy access to scenic walks as well as the town, making it ideal for both relaxation and exploring the area. The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay, always attentive and welcoming. The rooms were well-maintained, making for a relaxing and enjoyable experience overall. When there was an issue with the room, it was dealt with straight away, showing the staff’s efficiency and commitment to guest satisfaction.

    From the moment you enter the property to the time they wave goodbye, you are treated with such a friendly and hospitable temperament. We loved the conditions of the golf course and the views are simply majestic. The design is so well done and makes for a fun game! The staff are all great at what they do and make people feel welcome and taken care of. We appreciated the assistance of Mike and Brian especially. We look forward to our next trip back there.

    The outdoor pool at Fairmont Banff Springs is one of the highlights of the hotel amenities. The heated pool stays comfortable even in colder weather, and the mountain views around it are incredible and for a hotel pool it one of the best!Alison at the Vermillion Room was an outstanding server. She was friendly, attentive, and made the entire dining experience feel welcoming and relaxed even during a busy breakfast period.     Memorable bucket list night

    We stayed on the gold floor. Valet service, separate check in. This was a bucket list experience. Hotel is bustling, so many staff running around at all times. We saw a wedding banquet being prepared - absolutely stunning. Had a Rockies view room, enjoyed the gold lounge, we swam in the pool and enjoyed the warm sauna. Hot tub was under maintenance which is too bad. All in all, amazing experience. We would go back in a heartbeat. We were treated royally by the staff. This is an amazing hotel and worth the hit to the wallet to go. Maybe someday we will go back for longer than one night!     Poor hygienic standards

    We booked this hotel as it was supposed to be one of the best hotels in Banff. It looked grand from outside but unfortunately we had a bad experience with cleanliness which I believe is an ongoing problem with this hotel.The room we were given had a toilet with a significant brown deposit at the bottom which appeared as long term poor standard of cleaning. It was disgusting. We informed reception/ housekeeping and they tried to clean it for us but they could not. Housekeeping team said the toilet bowl needs to be replaced.We were asked what we want to do and we requested a different room. They offered a smaller room with smaller beds which was not the ideal but we accepted hoping we will get a clean washroom. Unfortunately the toilet in that room was the same.(I have attached pictures of both toilets)It appeared as the hotel staff did not see this was an issue, they were not very polite when communicating; obviously their standards of hygiene was that low. Communication skills of staff were also questionable across the board.We stayed in Fairmont chateau Lake Louise before going to Fairmont Banff Springs and their standards were much better in comparison.
