Great hotel getting a little dated

    rating05 May 2026

This is an awesome hotel, but is getting a little dated. When I say dated I mean the carpets... the room furniture compared to newly renovated hotels, but very clean and tidy, and nothing was broken. Staff is exceptional. Food was good but expensive. The paths you can walk around the hotel are great and the views stunning. You are isolated from everything (a little store and Post office on the grounds). My room this time had a view of the mountains vs the parking lot...LOL so was very nice. Over priced rip off

    rating05 Apr 2026

I would never recommend this hotel. Mainly for convenance we stayed for one night as we would be spending the day at the spa. The price with a discount from perkopolis mind you was $366 which I was ok with when booking because I believed the rooms would very nice. Our room was ok but something I would not pay more than $150 to stay in. The check in process was horrible, as we waited in line for approx 30 min due to other customers taking forever and only having two staff members available, not to mention the priority line that kept cutting in front of us. Then upon check out we are charged an additional $40 resort fee, so $400 for one night in a sub par hotel room. Save your money and take a drive to Canmore for an air bnb rental. Never again will I stay there, no where near worth the cost. Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Marketing at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations. We understand how frustrating a longer wait at check-in can be and regret the delay you experienced. Your comments regarding the arrival process and queue management have been shared with our team for review. We also appreciate your feedback regarding pricing and fees, and will continue to ensure these are communicated as clearly as possible in advance of arrival. We value your feedback and thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention.- Team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge

Nice hotel, but Family Room not worth it

    rating30 Mar 2026

Family room not worth the price, or even at any price. Family of five with three teenagers. One small bathroom no separation for toilet area versus shower. One sink. No sitting space other than two chairs. There was a vanity just outside the bathroom that also housed the mini refrigerator so it didn't really add to the space needed for a family. My fault I knew there was one bathroom, but I still underestimated how it was not at all designed for a family. It was a rainy cold day so we couldn't take advantage of the outdoors and the Water Park area was closed. The restaurants were top quality. Amazing steak dinner and breakfast. Order the French toast off the menu not the buffet. Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Marketing at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your dining experiences, particularly the steak dinner and French toast. We regret that the Family Room did not meet your expectations in terms of layout and overall comfort for your family. Your comments regarding the bathroom configuration and limited living space are appreciated and will be shared with our team for review. We also understand the disappointment of not being able to enjoy the outdoor offerings or water park during your stay.We value your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an improved experience in the future.Team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge

Excellent experience at the Black Diamond building

    rating22 Feb 2026

We are Marriott Titanium members and had never been to this resort. We decided to try it out for an adult only anniversary getaway. Upon arrival, our bellman greeted us warmly and was extremely helpful as he answers all of our many questions about the property and things to do around the area. We were ushered in to the front check-in area where check in with Ahmed was effortless and smooth. Ahmed was consistently gracious and greeted us with warmth every day of our stay. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised with chocolate covered strawberries as a gift for our anniversary - a thoughtful gesture which both my husband and I appreciated. We enjoyed the daily vast breakfast spread at the black diamond lounge which was readily replenished. The evening appetizers tied us over until dinner and were delicious. I must highlight the coffee maker. Both my husband and I enjoy cappuccinos, and this machine was able to closely duplicate our cappuccino experience in Italy. We even joked about getting a residential version of this commercial machine for our home. Finally, Anna, the front desk manager was clearly an expert in customer relations. She handled check-ins with ease, while also taking the time to check-in with the many guests dining in the black diamond lounge to ensure that all were satisfied with their meals. She also ensured that due to an unexpected family situation our experience was not hampered but instead we felt well taken care of. We enjoyed the on site spa, dining at the pub (try the clam chowder!), fat biking around the area in the snow and the proximity to Nakiska. It was a great winter vacation and we’ll be back with our kids soon due to the hospitality, proximity to many hikes/activities and beautifully kept and appointed rooms. Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Marketing at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, responded to this review Thank you so much for celebrating your anniversary with us, and for sharing such a thorough review. We’re delighted your first visit as Marriott Titanium members felt seamless from arrival, and we’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to Ahmed and Anna for making your stay so memorable. It’s wonderful to hear the thoughtful details stood out and you were able to enjoy the spa, winter adventures, and time in the Black Diamond Lounge. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the mountains, next time with the kids for a whole new adventure.- Team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge

The location and staff are top-notch. Must stay here!

    rating13 Feb 2026

To be honest, we were tired from the long drive. It was wonderful then to see this amazing lodge as we pulled in. The front desk staff was friendly and fully understanding of our service dog.The property is delightful with plenty of places for a dog to stretch. The gym is good but limited in terms of equipment. Some days the ellipticals were all in use so I jumped in the pool. There was some construction going on which was a bit discombobulating but I rolled with the program. We stayed here twice in July 2025. The first time we had a split level suite and the second time, a single level. I prefer the single level but both are nice. This place just invites you to relax and unwind. The walking trails (and geocaches) are plentiful. The included buffet breakfast at Forte was filling with a wide selection to choose from. But beyond that, the staff really cared. I explained to them that our service dog is sadly dying of bladder cancer. Manager Ronan, servers James, Tian, and Parnav were all very attentive. As a matter of fact, on our second stay, Parnav had the kitchen bake a small dog treat for our four-legged family member. You cannot pay for talent like that. Some people just care.I can see why the G-7 Summit was held here. Lovely location. If I come through this part of Canada again, I would stay here in a heartbeat.Ronak, Tian, James, and especially, Parnav, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Marketing at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, responded to this review Dear timothyy298,We’re so glad the Lodge was a welcome sight after your long drive, that first arrival moment, when the mountains open up around you, is something we never take for granted. Knowing our front desk team helped you and your service dog feel immediately at ease means a great deal.Your kind words about Ronan, James, Tian, and Parnav will be shared with them. Thoughtful care is at the heart of what we do, and we’re grateful it came through during your stay.If your travels bring you back this way, we look forward to welcoming you again.- The Team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge
