Worst mattresses I’ve ever seen in a hotel.

    rating18 May 2026

Stayed last night at Lobstick Lodge in Jasper, Alberta. Booked a room with 2 beds for $252 a night. For that price you would expect comfortable beds. However, the mattresses were terrible. Sagged in the middle so bad it hurt our backs. The mattresses are very old and need replaced. Literally awake have the night due to the pain/lack of support. Finally put a pillow in the sagged mattress and slept on it. The worst sleep at a hotel ever;(No breakfast and no discount. Never again, lesson learned.

    Should be condemned

    rating18 May 2026

Visited as a tour group. So disappointed. Dirty. Dated and a long way out of Jasper. Nothing much around itRoom 129. Old with ripped curtains and bulbs that gave out hardly any light. Infact the bedside lights didn't work at all and no bedroom wall light so had to keep bathroom light on at all times. The room was literally cell like. Bedding was comfortable but we were there for two nights - no housekeeping. Living room section of room was filthy. Settee was falling apart and dark with grime and stains. Cafe on site only open a few hours in the morning. Restaurant nearby was poor but only option as so far out of town. Vending machine on floor was best thing about hotel - fully stocked and easy to use. Would I return - never and I'll inform tour company how bad the hotel was.

    Always A Great Stay.

    rating09 May 2026

Stayed at the Lobstick Lodge for four nights to take advantage of the fantastic skiing up at Marmot Basin. I was able to book online using the seamless booking available and check in went smoothly and quickly. Had lots of luggage but elevator and cart made it easy. Restaurant was located in hotel next door as off peak period was in effect. Room service from that restaurant was available. Took advantage of the great pool, steam, and hot tub facilities there. Other restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance. Parking was ample and close. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great place with a few things to keep in mind

    rating09 Apr 2026

I love that this place is set back and ways out of town. Just keep that in mind if you're wanting to be more central. We had the separate bedroom with the 2 doubles and the fold-out couch and a full kitchen. If we were to do it over again, we originally had room 201 and across the hall 202. I'm not sure why they didn't put us together beside each other and I should have asked, but it would be much better to have rooms side by side so we both have have the Mountain View and a connecting door in between instead of the hallway and kids going back and forth and having to watch them all the time keeping the door so open this way, the connecting door could have been left open, and that would have been so much more convenient but we will know for next time. Also I would ask for the third floor on the 201 side instead, 301. We did like the fact that this was at the end of the corridor. There wasn't a lot of stair noise however, you can hear absolutely everything between the walls upstairs the stomping, talking clearly through the connecting door you can hear everything. Also on the 202 side of the building right literally underneath the window is the smoking area. That's really dumb. The hotel should put signs up along where the handicapped parking is and the windows of the second floor as well as the rear door which makes access so much easier, if you're in that end of the hotel. Otherwise, you are literally walking through clouds of smoke. When there's a large amount of people gathered, the smoking area should be away from the building and you cant open the window because the rooms are quite warm for you will be smoked out from the people below standing there in that area. The pool and the hot tub were nice. They don't enforce the rules about no drinks. There were several young men with cases of beer partying, not very inviting for any other guests to want to go in. All of this has been mentioned to the front desk. I would stay here again, fast check in and friendly just keeping in mind jasper is a busy place, loved the shuttle, Marmot basin road closed so long drive around and be careful some restaurants are adding a 18 percent tip if 6 or more people
