  Retrospective review prior to wildfires plus suggestions.

  We stayed 3 nights July 2023, one year before the wildfire. It was a good hotel with some negatives and a convenient location if travelling by car. Room was clean and functional. A lot of noise from other rooms despite being on second floor. Breakfast worse than Hampton Inn's. Front desk and restaurant staff seemed quite sad and unhelpful. Hopefully owner will rebuild with soundproofing, better breakfasts and motivated staff. And install ice machines that do not breakdown in summer, as was the case in July 2023.

  This was a very nice inn.It was cheap and cheerful, but not in a grungy way at all!The staff were friendly, the room was spotless and there were good facilities. Ample free parking and as a solo female I was placed on the top floor, which was a good gesture.Within walking distance of Jasper and the amenities of the lovely town.When Jasper opens back up, this is a brilliant place to stay.   I enjoyed my two-night stay in July. The inn provided pretty solid value for what I was looking for: a clean room with close proximity to the town center and a central base from which to go see various sights within a large national park.I'm so sorry to see what has happened to the town and the inn since my stay. May you rebuild stronger and better than before. At least the stone sign survived!   Would not stay again...

  Check-in took awhile as the young man went over all the rules and regulations and had my husband sign a agreement. The location was farther away from downtown Jasper than described so we drove our car and parked in a paid parking area. Parking is free at the hotel. We made the mistake of taking a room downstairs and we could hear a toddler as well as a heavy walker most of the night. We kept thinking, "what are they doing up there"? Construction is not solid. You can hear every sink, shower and toilet flush within the walls. Breakfast was a disaster. The Hotel seemed to be full of families and much of the food ran out at 9:00 am. When we asked to replenish the donuts/muffins, even with crumbs on the empty plate, the server stated they never put any out. We just grabbed a coffee (surprised they even had that) and checked out. I would not recommend this Hotel. There has to be something better between Banff and Jasper.
