    Great hotel!

    rating14 Apr 2026

We try to go once or twice a year! We love it there. They allow pets and have a fantastic pool and hot tub. Easy walk to downtown. Good elevator! Small hotel but grea hotel! The only thing that deters us these days is the charge to park downtown or anywhere near downtown and lots of the beautiful mountainscape parking lots!At Quarry Lake! Too expensive in summer!Peak season rates (May 15 – Oct. 14): $10 for two hoursLow season rates (Oct. 15 – May 14): $2.50 per hour

Rude front desk and horrible customer service

    rating23 Mar 2026

We booked three rooms through Orbitz at $377 per night, only to have the hotel change the rate to $599 per night after the reservation was made. This was extremely disappointing and felt misleading. We reserved based on the confirmed price, and changing the rate after the fact created unnecessary stress and significantly increased the cost of our stay. There was no clear communication or reasonable explanation provided for the increase. When you book at a confirmed rate, you expect that rate to be honored. This experience felt unprofessional and eroded our trust in the property’s booking practices.I would strongly caution others to double-check their reservations and confirm pricing directly with the hotel to avoid unexpected charges. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

    Wake up to mountains!

    rating04 Feb 2026

LOVED IT! Such friendly staff, the hotel is very clean and in a great location. We looked out our windows at mountains. The pool was perfect, the kids had a ton of fun because the slide is quite fast. They put out cookies, which is so sweet but they are actually a little gross. Only thing that would add would be some water and coffee in the lobby.

    Not sports team friendly!

    rating18 Nov 2025

THIS HOTEL IS NOT FRIENDLY TO SPORTS TEAMS!! In fact, the night supervisor specifically said that the manager doesn't prioritize hockey tournaments. The night supervisor (Leah P) demonstrated only contempt for the parents and children who were associated with the 2 hockey teams staying at the hotel. As such, the hotel is intolerant to working with teams as issues arise and instead, resorted to threatening to call security and the police! In fact, they did call security on some kids running in the hallways shortly after 10 pm. Even before then, the hotel staff was unreasonable in their determination of what constituted noise. The night supervisor said (paraphrasing): if your talking is louder than the soft music I am playing, then I will be calling security, and after that, the police. If the hotel doesn't want the business of sport team booking, then don't accept the room block request!!If you are part of a sports tournament, do not stay here.Additionally, the rooms are outdated. There are very few plugs or charging ports, and the dim lighting masks how dated the rooms are. I did enjoy the water pressure, but the temperature was finicky. Can fluctuate between burning hot or freezing cold with the slightest adjustment to the faucet. The pool is so chlorinated that my son lungs were burning, and he actually said he didn't want to go at one point because he didn't want to hurt his lungs for his upcoming game. A couple of other kids effectively had chemical burns (excessive itching; psoriasis looking splotches)! The hot breakfast was cold. The waffles were undercooked - so much so that the butter wouldn't melt. And in the middle of breakfast, they were already running out of supplies.

    Another great stay!

    rating06 Oct 2025

Everything about our stay was very good. My wife and I had a very comfortable room with a King bed on the 4th floor with a great view of the mountains. It also had a fireplace and small fridge. The front desk was always extremely helpful including providing bear spray and handling an Amazon delivery. Breakfast had loads of hot and cold choices and is served on real plates with cutlery. The coffee could have been a little less strong. The location is great, just off the highway and close to everywhere in Canmore. There is ample free parking and when there was ice on our car one morning the front desk clerk provided us with a scraper brush. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. This was our second great stay at the Pocaterra and we will be back on our next visit to Canmore.
