This family-friendly club resort is located in the small town of Canmore, with an alpine atmosphere and the epic grandeur of Alberta's Rocky Mountains. Just minutes from Banff National Park, Canmore is guests' starting point for a myriad of adventures from the serene to the heart-pounding. Silvertip Golf Resort is just 750 metres from the ski hotel and Johnston Canyon is around 1.6 km away. The spa complex is just over 1 hour away from Calgary International Airport.

Facility

214 rooms and 179 suites are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. Additional facilities include a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a childcare service and a laundry service. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently.

Rooms

Rooms feature a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning and central heating ensure comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax on the balcony or terrace. Rooms have a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Ideal for working out or just relaxing, the pool complex features an indoor area and a children's pool. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation.     I am extremely disappointed with the stay at our unit last Saturday night at a Solara suite in Canmore. We had booked two units. The unit I stayed at was Bow111. I did not mind the bar fridge not working, but to have an out of order for the dishwasher was not great as we had children with us. The worst was the master bathroom suite had no electricity from 8pm. We contacted customer service and had no reply. We woke up the next morning and again contacted them early and they said they would attend. Well we checked out at 10am AND NO ONE CAME TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. Seriously how do you expect us to use the bathroom without a light. I had to use my phone light just to use the toilet. We had children which made this situation VERY STRESSFUL. I am expecting a response and financial compensation for this distressing stay. I certainly will not be recommending this resort to others and my families WILL NOT BE RETURNING AGAIN. This was not a fun family experience. Again DISAPPOINTED-and UPSET.

    Beautiful , relaxing but disappointing. No elevator unfortunately was not going to be repaired until June , lodge only offered 10% discount for the inconvenience. Lodge did notify us less than week that elevator was down, to cancel visit was not an option.Rugs in hallways dirty, smells dirty. Our room was clean except for water stain on ceiling. That was a turn off, would not recommend to others to book with this lodge.

    We have stayed at this resort two times before and loved it, this time however, we were very disappointed. The first thing we encountered when we walked in was a dirty barstool with a potato chip laying on it. The furniture was very run down. There were stains on the throw pillows, the chair in the living room was visibly dirty. I had phoned and asked if there was coffee provided and was told yes then I went to make it and there were no filters so we were unable to make coffee.Overall it felt like we were punished for booking through Expedia maybe?? Just super disappointed overall this time.

    Solara was a lovely place for an anniversary getaway. Family and friends are able to stay together in spacious rooms with full kitchens and enough room for visiting. We usually stay at Solara at least once a year if possible. Already looking forward to our next trip!
