Kimberly's newest and most elegant mountain retreat is located on the mountain at the base of Kimberly Alpine Ski Resort. The Purcell Mountains, nestled in the Kootenays, are the quintessential Canadian Rockies playground with four spectacular mountain ranges, hundreds of breathtaking valleys and an endless array of ways to enjoy each and every one of them. This is a place where every season is an unbridled natural spectacle and every moment celebrated by those who revel in it.

Facility

The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services and facilities include a conference room and a coin-operated laundry. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Bicycles can be kept in the bicycle storage area.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. In some rooms, a terrace provides additional space for relaxation. Rooms include a double bed. Additional features include a refrigerator, a stovetop and a microwave. A washing machine is provided for guests' convenience. Internet access, a direct dial telephone and a television with satellite/cable channels are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-accessible rooms can also be booked. The hotel has non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The pleasantly heated water of the outdoor pool area guarantees comfortable swimming. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. Leisure activities and facilities at the hotel include cycling/mountain biking and a gym or, for a fee, golf.

On the surface it looked quite nice. Unfortunately there were some issues:There was an extremely strong chemical/perfume smell in the room. We later realized it was coming from the air conditioner. The air conditioner sounded like an airplane engine, extremely loud for trying to sleep. The “TV” was a desk top screen attached to the wall. Pretty small for an expensive room. The bed mattress was worn out. My side of the bed had me rolling into a big dip on the left side of the mattress. Although the unit appeared to have been cleaned, the back wall of the shower had significant mold. The towels were the calibre you expect to find in an ultra economy motel. You are provided one bath towel per guest for a three day stay. There is no housekeeping and with a bill totalling nearly $300 per night, it was disappointing. I have to say we stayed here 3 years ago and were really impressed by the place. I can’t see us ever staying there again.

Fantastic stay and weekend at Mountain Spirit Resort

Mountain spirit resort is absolutely fantastic! The rooms are spacious, clean, 2 bedroom with 2 bathroom is perfect for a family. The full kitchen and island makes for great family dinners. The large balcony that is equipped with table and chairs to enjoy your surroundings.We enjoyed the pool and hot tub! I highly recommend this resort and look forward to coming back!

We were on the main floor. Room was great , bed comfy, furnishings great. Could have better pillows. Only complaint(s) was that air conditioning did not function very well. Granted it was hot during our stay but others in the complex said their room was like a meat locker while ours was very warm (hot). Not sure about the upper floors but our patio glass and windows could definitely use a washing.Front desk staff was great.

Had a wonderful stay at Mountain Spirit Resort. Lovely to have the hot tub after a day of skiing. Convenient free shuttle service into town was an extra benefit! Thanks to front desk staff Carolyn, Margaret and Bonnie for great customer service.

Very well equipped units next to the ski lifts. Also underground parking is a must in Canadian winters.Units have a wonderful open plan to them, loved the bathtub next to the bedroom.At home we have one in the bedroom.Wonderful ski locker room, but the locks were a worry.Terry O'Grady
