Hope to never stay there again

Garage door slammed down on my truck, parking is so tight to get in and out u less you have a pedal bike, it’s so tight. lights where burnt out in my room, service is SO VERY slow for food/drink (breakfast was fine) for the amount to pay to stay there, then have to pay for parking on top.

    Horrible stay.

Never again at this hotel. Coffee maker does not work. Ask them to fix it. A workday later, still not working. Batteries in tv remote are dead. TV can’t turn on. Outlets at the desk are tripped and have no power. No breakers I can see to reset. Lamp at desk obviously not working. No water bottles or anything of the sort in room. I suppose I can live with the fact that the fire alarm went off at 2am with no communication from the front desk as to what we should do. Or not do. Mind ya, I travel alot and that has never happened. A complaint to the front desk gets me shuffled to a “manager” that picks up the phone 3 times putting me back on hold. To avail. I rarely complain but this is the epitome of terrible service. I will never be back to this location

Beautiful architecture, but that's it! Book another hotel chain!

    rating21 Aug 2025

The hotel looks nice from outside. But the downtown location on Jasper, is near a homeless/addicts shelter is not ideal! There are screams at night, you have to go through the little plaza near the hotel where they gather to get to the LRT station, the kids don't feel safe! By the way, when we fchecked in, we were never given the chocolate chip cookie they advertsie, and we have kids! There is shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in teh bathroom, but no shower gel! Bathtub is slippery, I did fell, but no hurt, so I don't have to sue the hotel! As for breakfast: rooms are not cheap, and if you had a breakfast option, you expect a buffet type breakfast like in other hotel chains....well, they make you sit and you have to order an omelet on waffles or on toast, pancakes, but there is no muffins, no fruits, nothing!!! The kids had to order for breakfast fries because they were fed up of eggs, or pancakes! If you take a glass of juice, you can't get coffee or tea which are usually on a refill basis in other hotels, even throughout the day! At the end, the server, make you sign a receipt to let you know the breakfast price even if it's already prepaid. The excuse I was given, was that there were not enough clientele to have a normal breakfast! That is the very 1st time I see that in all my travels (Europe, Caribbean, USA, cruises etc...). When I complained, the front desk manager took out the breakfast from my bill for the 4 days we were there, and gave me a few golden Hilton Honours points. I think in the future I'll stick with the Hyatt chain, and other hotel chains that give you more value for your money! I rented a car for one day, and to park at teh hotel was $35/night, which is quite expensive especially if you're a hotel guest and the hotel is far from full! And like many said in other reviews, the entry/exit of the parkade is weird, small/narrow!I was already disappointed by a few things in Alberta (all they care about is your tourist money especially in the Banff area), and a friend who used to live in Edmonton told me there was nothing to see besides Elk Island! Calgary was OK but plagued by the same problem of homeless/drug addicts all over the place, downtown, in the train stations, buses, etc...I know the problem exists in other cities in Canada, but it seems more spread out and visible in Calgary and Edmonton!

Good Hotel for Rogers Place Event

    rating10 May 2025

Stayed here as we were in town for an Oilers game. It’s about a 15 minute walk to Rogers Place, part of which you can do fully indoors. The area directly around the hotel isn’t amazing with lots of boarded up windows but walking back from the game we did not feel unsafe. Room was good - lots of space and the bed was quite comfortable. Only minor issue was we couldn’t figure out the bathroom door lock but perhaps just user error? Even though the hotel seemed busy for the game, there was ample room in the underground parkade (yes, the entry/exit doors to the parkade are a bit odd, but the parkade itself was fine). All in all, would stay here again in the future.

    Pleasant Enough

    rating14 Feb 2025

The property is generally fine, but there were a few small details that prevented me from having a great stay. 1. The shower. The tiles were horribly scratched and there was grime, possibly mold, all along the outer grout. Though I’m sure it was clean, it didn’t certainly didn’t have the shiny, clean look. 2. Temperature control. The fan was extremely loud and every time the heat kicked on during the night, it would startle me awake. Due to the positioning of the vent, it blows directly at your face while in bed. Some might not mind, but I found it really uncomfortable. Other than these minor things the hotel is quite nice and I’d certainly consider staying in the future.
