  Absolutely awful. Put us in a room right next to a bunch kids whose parents thought the hallway was a playground - they were playing mini-sticks and being loud and obnoxious. Complained to the front desk, manager said he would deal with it, he didn't. We then asked if we could be moved. He said no. We said, OK, we're out of here - and that was that. Worst customoer service we have ever experienced. We'll never go back to an HIE again - anywhere (we've been burned by Holiday Inn twice now). Rooms are generally cramped and overpriced. We understand that the noise from other guests created an uncomfortable environment, and we took immediate action to manage the situation. Our hotel staff went up to the floor and personally advised the children to go back to their rooms in order to reduce the noise. Additionally, we informed you that our team would be doing regular rounds for security checks and noise control across all floors.We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we understand that despite our efforts, the noise was still disruptive. When you requested a room change, we unfortunately could not accommodate that request due to the hotel being sold out during that period. However, we made sure to offer you the option to cancel your stay without any penalty as a courtesy.We also want to emphasize that our staff were polite and courteous throughout your time with us, and we made every attempt to address your concerns promptly. Despite this, you chose to check out within an hour of your arrival, and we respected your decision, waiving the cancellation fee.Once again, we truly regret that your stay was not up to your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback.   Comfortable stay

  We had a great stay here! The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing night. We really appreciated that it was pet friendly with easy access to take the dog out for a walk. The beds and pillows were comfortable, making for a great sleep and the breakfast buffet had a nice variety to start the day off right. The staff was welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. Best of all, check in was quick, which is always a plus!

  Not good for teams to stay at sadly

  Do NOT book if you’re with a team. See the sheet below that they do NOT provide until you check in. We stay at 13+ hotels a year with various hockey teams and have never had restrictions like these. I have no issue with restrictions, however it feels very dishonest on the hotel’s part to not have given a warning before we showed up. Every other hotel allows mini-sticks and groups congregating in the open area. This is not a 4 star hotel, industry standard is that when teams book, kids play and often eat pizza in the unoccupied breakfast area or whatever. Familiarize yourself with the dozen rules before booking, there are WAY nicer and cheaper places to stay in South Edmonton and Nisku that are far more accommodating to teams spending thousands of dollars.   Renovated Rooms

  This hotel has been renovated since we last stayed here. Check-in was confusing as the hotel had no record of my reservation even though I showed them the confirmation. I was able to get two rooms, but not the type I had originally reserved. The rooms have been nicely renovated on the surface. My room (425) had some missed spots, especially in the bathroom where the ceiling was not painted and there was a rusty maintenance cover. Also, the bathroom door was peeling on the bottom.The new furniture in the room is very comfortable and the new blue colour palette is nice. The room had a 40-inch TV, but it contained just a few Roger's cable channels. While the TV was a smart TV, we got errors when we tried to access Amazon Prime, stating there was no internet connection. The beds were comfortable, and we had a good sleep before we had to leave in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express fare. There were many choices of hot and continental style choices. Overall, the renovated hotel us a good choice in south Edmonton.
