Location

This hotel enjoys an ideal location in the heart of downtown Halifax and adjacent to the World Trade and Convention Centre, the Halifax Metro Centre and the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. The hotel provides convenient access to the business district and the best city has to offer in shopping, attractions and entertainment. For business or pleasure this is the best base from which to experience the rich heritage of Atlantic Canada's most culturally diverse city.

Facility

266 rooms, including 3 junior suites, 2 suites, 73 single rooms and 67 double rooms, are available to guests in a 7-storey main building and an 11-storey auxiliary building. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. Guests can also use the bicycle storage facilities. Complimentary newspapers are available. To assist guests with their business and communication needs, the business centre offers a fax machine. Lectures, presentations and meetings can be held in one of the 9 conference rooms.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. All kitchenettes come with a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. The daily newspaper is laid out for guests in the the rooms. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The pool complex guarantees comfortable swimming with its pleasantly heated water, indoor area and children's swimming area. A sun terrace is a great place to while away the hours. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including a gym, a spa, a sauna and a solarium.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a café and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Full board can be booked. A continental breakfast gives guests many delicious reasons to rise and shine. At lunch and dinner, guests can order à la carte or choose a set menu. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available.

    The rooms I was in was just refreshed and was nice. This is located very close to the Scotiabank Centre and downtown nightlife. Very walkable !     When we checked in, the receptionist informed us that the parking lot was already sold out and that all nearby parking garages were fully booked. It was extremely frustrating, especially with small kids — the thought of searching for parking far from the hotel and having my husband and children walk a long distance was very stressful.However, kudos to the manager on duty that night. She went above and beyond to help us find a parking spot nearby, and we are so grateful for her assistance. She truly turned a stressful situation into a much better experience.
