    Needs some Love badly

    Having arrived in. Canada for a long Trip with our Dogs we chose the Inn on the lake as it looked like it had good grounds to exercise them well the first point i’ll make is that the staff were very nice but unfortunately the Grounds and Rooms are run down it needs a complete refurb unless you like to rewind to the 80’s where it would be perfect. The noise from other rooms above and both sides carries through the thin walls especially the Spa Baths at all times of the Night !! We booked for 4 night but after 3 had had enough and left they said they would refund the last Night they did not am I surprised nope not at all now staying in a much better and cheaper place .

    Location is excellent, near the airport but not too far from the city.The previous times I stayed , there was a shuttle which was very handy. They don’t have the shuttle any more so expect a cost for a taxi if you don’t have a car.Inside the hotel is dated. It’s clean and well looked after but it looks like they stopped updating the design in the 70’s.The highlight is the bar, it looks like an old Irish pub that has some history. The staff there is excellent and very friendly. The food is great. The prices are high but I have no complains about the quality of the food.I was a bit disappointed that the liquor selection was limited. I enjoy scotch and Irish whiskey and the selection was not great. Also - beer, wine, spirits - expensive- be prepared!I was frustrated by the hours of operation for both dining room and bar- they seem to close at different times and it’s not convenient when getting in from the airport late. I arrived about 7:30, went to my room to Freshen up and by the time I came down, there was no more food being served. They don’t have any food available after that except for a vending machine. And - no other places close by to grab a bite.I have friends who live in the area and have gone to the restaurant for years as a special treat but most of them don’t go any more because of the changes in opening time etc, it’s become too unreliable. There are good competitors around the airport that offer new, fresh hotels with competitive pricing. They don’t have the character of the Inn on the lake but they beat it by a mile with value and amenities.As much as I have enjoyed my stays there in the past, I don’t think I will be staying there again unless things get updated.

    We chose the restaurant at the Inn On The Lake in Fall River, NS for a get-together with old friends from our university days. The restaurant reservation was booked earlier in the month and when we arrived our table for the group was already set-up for us. We were the first to arrive and we were seated and a staff member asked if we'd like anything to drink. We ordered coffee and as others arrived they were similarly looked after.When all had arrived our server took our orders. We had a great time catching up from our last get-together in the spring and our server kept our coffees and other drinks topped up or refreshed.After an hour of waiting for our meals, one of our party enquired about the wait time. Our server assured us that our food was nearly ready. After another 15 minutes some meals began to arrive. After another 8-10 minutes we were finally all served.I had ordered the burger and fries and had asked that my meal arrive hot. The server assured me that it would be hot when it arrived. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The fries were just warm and the burger was the same. The burger lacked any seaoning and tasted like it was made from a frozen patty. Overall, I was quite dissatisfied with the meal and service in terms of the time it took for our meals to arrive. The server was very nice and attentive.The restaurant was very clean and well appointed. Bathrooms were very clean.Prices were quite high for the quality of food served to me.

    We stayed for one night in September 2025 prior to flight home as this Inn is located close to the airport. The rooms are looking a little tired but are very spacious, other than the bathroom. We had a balcony and did enjoy spending time there in the evening. When we checked in, we were informed the dining room would be closed for breakfast the next day but complimentary coffee/juice/muffins would be available near the lobby. The reason we booked this hotel was so that we could have a good breakfast prior to our flight, so that was disappointing. The coffee was not great, one kind of juice and the muffins were stale, so we ended up having breakfast at the airport anyways. We did have supper in the dining room though and the food and service were wonderful. Probably would not stay again.

    Rural Inn feel near the city

    Staying at Inn is like stepping back in time in the best possible way! The decor is right out of the ‘90s but very good quality and super unique. It has a boutique vibe and once you’re in the room, it’s easy to forget you’re in a hotel. The balcony was a great feature and we ate a few meals there and read and relaxed. The property is well maintained and the pub and dining rooms were perfect for meals. It has pretty much anything you need. Located near a busy highway but with the patio doors closed, you couldn’t hear the traffic.
