    Very Disappointing Hotel

    rating12 Nov 2025

We stayed at this hotel for one night - thank goodness! There is no elevator leaving you to carry your luggage upstairs and through narrow hallways. The hotel smells of cigarette and pot smoke. The room and hotel were not very clean. It was a noisy, run down hotel. This was VERY disappointing for a Holiday Inn hotel. Will never stay there again. The parking lot was full of large trucks making it very difficult to park and hard to find a parking spot. Likely this was due to workers staying at the hotel who were rebuilding Jasper after the devastating fire. Terrible … avoid

    rating30 Sept 2025

Terrible booking experience. Not advised no breakfastRude staff at check in making me feel it was my fault that I didn’t know. Said price for my 2 rooms was best price at $187 yet charged me $220 instead. Both rooms were poorly upgraded. Shower surround pulling away from wall, pink mold around bath, bath not grouted, Hair stuck to bathroom wall, air conditioning units suck in exhaust from vehicles parked up against room walls. Rugs in both rooms had multiple stains. Bathroom door touched the toilet making it very hard to manoeuvre in the minuscule bathroom Etc etc. at checkout clerk said she’d refund $30 and give extra loyalty points and that the manager would call me. None of that happened. VERY POOR customer service. I posted a complaint on the website which asked if I wanted a call from the manager. I entered “yes” … STILL NOTHING. I’m disgusted. Old Style Layout - Noisy

    rating22 Sept 2025

Although cosmetically renovated, this hotel is clearly an old building with an old school motel kind of layout. 2 stories, narrow doorways, stairwell at each end of the building, etc. Pros - comfy bed and linens, nice cosmetic finishes , staff friendly at check in Cons - extremely noisy. Old building is not soundproof. Our room adjoined another and even with the door closed we could hear the other guest’s conversation. They coughed and backed all night and it was loud enough to keep me up. Constant door slamming in the hallway - we were located near an exit door. Constant door traffic up and down the stairs (also located near the stairwell). We were on the main level and there were people outside (smoking? socializing?) until well after midnight. Although they weren’t being rowdy, the noise of their talking and laughing came right through our window and kept us up. Restaurant under construction. Received an email after checking in telling us this and saying they would provide free eye masks and ear plugs. Cost - well over $200/night (on a weeknight). Had I known how noisy the hotel was and that the restaurant was under renovation, we would have stayed elsewhere. There are plenty of options in Hinton and beyond the cosmetic touches, this hotel doesn’t live up to the Holiday Inn brand promise. Check Final Bill before Leaving

    rating13 Aug 2025

Property is in need of a facelift. They are currently renovating the restaurant and bar so it was closed. Check in took forever. I had reserved two rooms; one for us and the other for our friends traveling with us. I had contacted the hotel ahead of time to make sure each room had been reserved under different credit cards. The gentleman checking us in could not get our rooms assigned correctly with two different cards on file. It took about 15 minutes to get checked in. This hotel does not have an elevator; stairs only to the second floor. Rooms are in need of new carpet and furnishings. There is a small store with snacks for sale. but no food options other than snacks. No coffee available in the lobby in the morning either. Upon checkout we discovered our rooms had been billed to each others credit cards. Luckily, we were good friends traveling together so just decided to fix it among ourselves. So, check your bill carefully when you leave; they really have some issues with billing. Perhaps after renovations this property will be better. For the price paid ($330) per night it was definitely not worth it.

    Filthy hotel

    rating11 Aug 2025

The room had a paper number for the room, a door that was hard to open, think it might have been the staff old lunch room, the bathroom had stains all over the edging of the floor, both the bathroom an closet stuck when you tried to open the door, couldn't get in with the key into the building , so they gave us a fob. Wi-fi had to have a special code, otherwise would not work, tried to email finally , could receive them but couldn't send them. The carpet was all bumpy an dirty , when you walked on it caught your shoes an we would trip, but the carpet was dirty an stained , so you wanted your shoes on. The wall paper was coming off , had nicotine stains on the top of the wall paper , they had two beds, well the mattress was bigger than the box spring an it would slide off. I have never had a room so bad, the cafe was closed for reno. you had to walk up stairs or the ramp for the second floor, they had no elevator the room cost us over $300.00 Canadian. At first glance the grounds looked clean , the plants were dying , smoke butts ever where they have never been cleaned up , it was raining so never really looked . I do not recommend this hotel , I have never had a issue with the Holiday Inn ever , but this one should be closed an fully reno.
