    Came for the Price, Stayed for the Hot Tub and Breakfast

    This place did not pretend to be something it is not, and I respect that. The price was perfectly representative of the establishment. The room is a bit dated, but it was clean, and that is what matters most.The thermostat was one of those old slide controls, and it appeared to be more of a suggestion than a control. I slid it around with optimism, but the temperature did its own thing. The shower head is also due for an upgrade, but the shower still worked fine.On the bright side, the staff were genuinely friendly, the hot tub was actually hot (rare win), and breakfast was great. If you are passing through Golden and want good value, a clean room, and a solid soak, this is a perfectly reasonable stop.

    Very nice Hotel, great breakfast. There is a fantastic metal horse sculpture at the entrance, made from all manner of scrap parts.

    Lies about check in time, Fraudulent charges

    DO NOT STAY HERE. They promised 2pm check in but when I arrived at 4pm, they told me “to drive around town” for 1 hour and come back. No apologies.I booked through Expedia so my room was already paid. When I checked out, they refused to print me a receipt. When I got home, they fraudulently charged me $600. I had to call at least 5 times and they refused to refund me. Always some excuse like I need to talk to my manager, he’s not here, etc. When I finally got upset, the manager miraculously appeared even though “he already left for the day” comment earlier. The assistant manager - Harmon - said he understood my frustration and would “call Expedia” to see if he could offer compensation. He lied and together with Mila said no compensation. The refund finally happened 2.5 weeks later (should have been immediate). What a joke - poor customer service - fraudulent charges and no apology or compensation for numerous attempts for me to be reimbursed. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

    Very comfortable room with good facilities. It was very clean and was serviced every day. The complimentary breakfast however was not good. The only "hot" options were sausages, fried potatoes and scrambled egg. I say hot but I had to heat mine up in the microwave. The breakfast room itself is very small considering the size of the hotel. If you decide on having a late breakfast be prepared for the doors to be closed while you are still eating.
