  Really good value. we had the room 303 which is up 2 flights of curved staircases but not a problem really quiet at night, dark curtains that don’t let the light in so slept really well me and my son the bathroom that this room serves is only available to the 3 room adjacent to the Bathroom which is really handy The room was very clean with plenty of pillows,sheets & towels Breakfast is pretty good Cereal,Toast,pancakes,boiled eggs,YogurtApple juice or you can bring in whatever you want there is also Free Food that previous guests have left, which you are can help yourself to You can also cook your own meals in the evening if you wish People are really friendly and welcoming would highly recommend

  Auberge du Plateau, your magical and wonderful home in Montreal!!! :=)

  Montreal is one of the most beautiful cities in Canada and the one that exhudes more of Europe. In fact, my first time visiting here im feel right in Europe in the heart of Canada. I visited my friend last month and looking for a nice, cozy, affordable place near downtown where my friend stays. Upon looking at Agoda, I found this very affordable room offered by Auberge du Plateau. I booked a 1 Double room with Shared bath room at just less than 100 SGD per night with free WIFI/Breakfast so what a great deal it was!!! And luckily I booked it more than 1 month in advanced because it got sold out pretty quick. The hotel is just located in Sherbrooke street about 10 mins walk from Sherbrooke Metro station and around 10 mins via Uber from Rue Tupper and just a few Metro stations as well. Uber in Montreal is pretty affordable and there are less traffic in the city. Checkin was at 15:00 and it was pretty easy and smooth but the only thing the front desk is open only from 8am to 11pm. The place is a low rise hotel with French Architecture and Design. The Reddish brown facade with its small stairs is really a testament of French/Canadian design. The lobby is warm and cozy and it also serves as pantry/dining area. They have lounge chairs, dining tables and panty/kitchen on the Lobby. This area is closed after 11 pm till 8 am so if you wanted to grab some hot drink or water could only do after those timings. The hotel also doesn’t have any lifts so there is a narrow stairs that could fit one person at a time going up and down so if you have a big luggage it may not fit in properly and be prepared to lift your heavy luggage. My room is booked at 2F and it on the corner most side facing the side street. The interior is classical French with wooden floorings and artistic timeless paintings and pieces. The room is quite huge at 14 sqm and I have a double bed, study table with chair, sink, wardrobe and 2 bed tables. As mentioned the wooden flooring really sets the classic/homey/warm vibes of the hotel. The low double bed is comfy, soft and clean. The blankets are thick/soft. They provide 2 sleeping pillows and 2 square pillows which are soft/fluffy. On each side are bed tables with White Modern square lamps with compartment/power outlet. I loved the Horse painting on top of the bed. There is a closed big wardribe beside the bed where you can even put your luggages. There are no TVs inside the room and the sink has both cold/hot water. There are 2 mirrors one body near the door and wall one on top of the sink. I loved the hanging modern cozy lamp with warm white tones and another lamp by the study table. Heating is centralized so some hours could be a bit cold but it heats perfectly most of the time. As mentioned, I have a shared bathroom for my booking so I have to go out to take shower or use the toilet. There are shower areas and a toilet beside me. Their actually clean and I didn’t experience any waiting times. The only comment I have was the water heating. Pressure is not a problem but if you wanna use hot water you need to toggle the knob so hard to the left that it pains and difficult a lot of times. It also means the hotter the water gets the strong it is. They don’t provide toiletries so bring your own. However, they have clean towels and cups you could get from the pantry. Tap water in Montreal is also drinkable and clean!!!Other than my room, the other favourite part of my stay here is their daily breakfast included in my booking. It was so homey vibes having my breakfast and they provide Pancakes/Breads/Pastries/Yoghurt/Orange and Hard boiled eggs. They offer hot water/milk/coffee/tea and lots of sauces and condiments. They have a huge wooden island at the center of their kitchen where you could get and prepare your breakfast. The lounge/dining area is also huge and could accommodate many people. They have a long wooden table, round table and lounge area. All over the place are traditional rectangular windows with a view of snowy Winter wonderland outside. Its the perfect spot to have your breakfast while sipping your Hot Coffee and enjoying the magical view outside!!! After breakfast, we need to clean our plates and wash the dishes on your own. The breakfast experience really sealed the deal for my 2 wonderful magical christmasy nights of stay here at Auberge du Plateau!!!   The photos on the site do not necessarily depict the room given. Our room (shared with my adult daughter) was on the third floor, up a couple of narrow staircases that are definitely not to code anywhere in the western world (they were steep, shallow, crooked, no handrails at certain points), and the room was faded, cramped and nothing like the rooms in the photos on-line. We left and found space elsewhere.

  The rooms are nothing like the pictures. It was way to hot in the room plus I shared with 4 other people. Trying to sleep was hard. Always someone getting up and leaving the room in the middle of the night.I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. It reminds me of a shelter except that you have to pay here.You have to make your own bed and bring all the stuff back when you check out. So it's pretty much a shelter that you pay for. I won't be going back or recommending. Plus for the price I could have gotten a hotel room that would of cost me a little more than what they are charging.

  What a perfect place to stay! Came up from the States for a weekend visit with friends without any expectations since we just found this place from a Google search, but it was an absolutely perfect fit for us. The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything clearly, as well as giving us directions to cheap parking. The dorm room was neat and the decor everywhere was charming. The rooftop terrace especially was a lovely place to sit out in the evening. In the morning the communal breakfast felt lively but not too loud and the coffee was delicious. For the location and the price, all of us would absolutely return.
