    GOOD CENTRAL HOTEL

    rating03 May 2026

Just spent four nights here and it was a GREAT location !!!After the HORRIBLE roads into the city there is a very small "landing area" outside the hotel for CHECK-IN so be careful pulling in and out of it.ALEXANDRA at REGISTRATION was a friendly and welcoming beginning to our stay. She provided a lovely positioned room (Room 323) at the back of the hotel away from street noise, although the 6:30 a.m. Friday morning garbage pick up was a bit jolting !!!!The extra $40 a night for on-site parking was a bit of a kick but after the first day of driving on the HORRIBLY POT-HOLED AND WORN OFF LANE LINES throughout the city we decided to park the car and just either walk or UBER. And a reminder that the sous terrain parking garages in Montreal are NOT built for big cars. I have no idea how they expect two vehicles to pass in the laneways let alone near corners. GOOD LUCK!!!Room was large, modern and clean with all the updates including a bedside clock/nightlight and charging station which I have not seen before. There is plenty of closet space and a safe. The large bathroom had a neat lighted mirror design and the tub had a hand rail as well as wall-situated soap and shampoo bottles. There is a small restaurant but we ate at all the local spots.

    Good Canadian Customer Service

    rating30 Apr 2026

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been staying in hotels so often in France or what but the care and service from every single person in this hotel struck me as above and beyond. Good old fashioned Canadian “nice” maybe. From the lady at the front desk who was so very lovely and personable (she made a point to find us a great room) to the maintenance man who came up to fiddle with our air conditioning late at night… everyone was super accommodating. I left my blingy Stanley cup at checkout at the desk and she even remembered it was mine and called me after we left - she remembered whose it was! Rooms were clean and fantastic. Restaurant is slightly overpriced for what you get… but restaurant service was very good. They printed documents for me with a smile and I didn’t even ask the young man at the desk suggested it. They made what turned out to be a very frustrating trip for personal administration slightly ok lol. They were all the highlight of the 24 hours I was in the city. All in all I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Don't Book Worst Experience EVER

    rating19 Apr 2026

The worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. Our family had planned a vacation and, due to an unexpected medical issue, we were forced to reschedule. As part of that process, I contacted multiple companies—Air Canada Vacations, car rental agencies, and other hotels—and every single one of them worked with us compassionately and professionally. This hotel was the only business that refused to accommodate our situation. When I called to explain the medical circumstances, the agent was dismissive and rude. I was told I could not cancel, and when I asked to simply change the dates and pay any difference in rate, I was told that was “not an option,” despite the fact that the system clearly presented it as one. I was left with no flexibility, no empathy, and no willingness to help during an already stressful time.Given the lack of professionalism and complete disregard for customer care, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many other establishments in Montreal that value their guests and stand behind the options they advertise.

    Run down room, poor service

    rating25 Feb 2026

The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to McGill University. The pool and gym are nice. But the hotel itself is just okay. It's run down. There were stains on our bathtub, the towels were frayed, and neither of our bedside table lamps worked. We asked for 3 days for them to be repaired but they never were. As there's very little light in the rooms, it was an inconvenience. The lack of light also makes the desk pretty unusable as a workspace. We opted out of having our room cleaned but when we asked to have garbage removed it was not. In the morning when we left to go for breakfast, there was someone's dirty socks inside the hotel entrance. They were still there hours later when we came back.

Great option when visiting Downtown Montreal

    rating18 Feb 2026

Very pleased with our visit to the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Montreal. It is our “go to” hotel in Montreal. Staff is friendly and front desk staff always welcomes us back as we have stayed here quite a few times. Hotel is clean and rooms are always clean too. Great location, close to shopping, restaurants and Place Des Arts. Also close to Metro station for travel around Montreal. Convenient underground parking that we were able to access prior to checking in. Area is fairly safe as it’s close to McGill but Avenue du Parc north of the hotel is a little sketchy. Impressed that even though it’s been there a while, it is still in good shape. Will return on our next trip to Montreal.
