Great for business. Not for Tourists.

Great city location at the edge of Chinatown, Convention Center, VIA railroad station, and Old Montreal. Service was friendly and excellent. On-premise restaurant was pricey and had limited menu options, but off site cafes and restaurants are conveniently located.Staying in our room was like time-travel back 20 (or 50?) years—you can see the progression of hodge-podge, somewhat half-assed room renovations. The furniture had a dark 1970s vibe, the desktop USB charging sockets were dead, but at least the bathroom plumbing fixtures were brand new. Our biggest disappointment was with the TV system and its limited channel selection, no streaming, balky remote control, and frequent connection outages. This is a great place for a single-person business or convention traveler on an expense account. Not so much for a tourist couple.

Definitely a place to stay!

After being in US hotels where fellow travelers don't know how to act in public; this hotel is an oasis on many levels. Our concierge, Edwitch, was just amazing. The hotel was nice and quiet, and all employees we encountered were pleasant and helpful. The lobby's koi pond is gorgeous, and I'm jealous about its cleanliness! Whoever keeps it so clean can come to my house and clean my fish tank! Pool, spa, and sauna were also at very relaxing temperatures. The only thing, though, is that the ladder to the whirlpool is scary. The steps need to have some abrasive material to make them safer. That would be the only bone I would have to pick.

As expected, a reliable experience. Not fancy but a clean room and very good house-keeping service. Bit tired looking with worn carpets in some areas. Best positive is its location, downtown and close to a metro station. **Title: Housekeeping Threw Away My Clothes — Management Blamed Me**I stayed at Holiday Inn Montreal from August 28 to September 6. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing from the very first day.I placed a pair of jeans and a T-shirt in an open-top container in my room because they were dirty. Without asking me or checking whether the items had been discarded intentionally, housekeeping removed my clothes from my occupied room and threw them into the hotel’s recycling. I had not checked out and was staying at the hotel for nine days. It should have been obvious that clothes left in an occupied guest room were personal belongings, not rubbish.It took me three days just to speak with a manager. When I finally did, instead of apologizing or accepting responsibility, the manager told me that I should not have put my clothes in the recycling container. This response was unacceptable. The issue is not where I placed my dirty clothes inside my own hotel room; the issue is that housekeeping removed and discarded clearly identifiable personal belongings without my permission or even attempting to confirm with me.Why would a guest throw away their own jeans and T-shirt on the first day of a nine-day stay? Even if housekeeping was unsure, they should have left the clothes where they were or contacted me before disposing of them. Blaming the guest after the hotel has thrown away their belongings shows a serious lack of professionalism, responsibility and respect.To make matters worse, we saw a cockroach in the bathroom on the first day and reported it immediately. The hotel’s response was simply that nothing like this had ever happened before, rather than properly addressing our concern.Mistakes can happen, but the way a hotel responds makes all the difference. In this case, my personal belongings were discarded without my permission, it took three days to reach a manager, no meaningful solution was offered, and I did not even receive a sincere apology. Instead, I was blamed for the hotel’s actions. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Fine for two nights - Good location - Neighborhood questionable

Very average Holiday Inn with good location to Old Port and Metro Station. The on-site (paid) parking with in and out privileges is hassle-free and great for day trips and flexibility. Exterior surroundings are a bit rough, rundown, and dirty. The ground floor and entry into the hotel is a vacant space and very unappealing. Check-in and reception is actually on Floor Two and nice enough with koi pond and sitting area, bar, etc. We had a king room with balcony (8th floor) which was a basic business room. The balcony is not one you would want to relax on, nor did it have chairs to do so. Bathroom was spacious with lots of counter-space, which is always a bonus. Overall, fine for two nights and the location is good; neighborhood appeal not the nicest. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet for sleeping. Room rate overpriced, but everything is these days. All in, around $300 USD per night including various taxes and parking.
