    Avoid at all costs!

    rating20 Oct 2025

Stayed here for five days, it was one of the worst hotels I ever stayed in. Rooms are very small and have no individual temperature controls so they blast the air conditioner all day and night. I told staff at the front desk to turn off the AC twice and they did not do so, I had to wear thick clothing at night to stay warm. The man who works overnight is not bilingual and speaks very little English. I understand Montréal is a French speaking city but since he is working in a hotel with many Anglophone guests, you would expect him to have working knowledge of English. The wi-fi signal is hit and miss! I stayed on the first floor and it hardly ever worked in the room, I often had to go to the lobby. Even in the lobby the wi-fi would not work very well. Its a hit and miss as mentioned, I would definitely regret staying here if I had to get important work done. The only positive things I can say about this hotel is the bathroom is decent and its very conveniently located. There is an STM station within walking distance, Berri-UQAM, which serves orange and green lines on the Métro. There are numerous restaurants, fast food establishments, and places to eat nearby. Other than convenient location I don't see any benefits of staying at this hotel. If I were to visit Montréal in the future I would not stay here ever again.

Not terrible but not good enough

    rating14 Jun 2025

A barely passable 4-night stay at Hotel Quartier Latin, in downtown Montréal.The hotel is conveniently located, close to restaurants, the Berri-UQAM metro station and bus stops. It's also walking distance from Le Vieux Montréal, Le Vieux Port, La Fontaine Park and not far from the main shopping district. Coffee, tea, water and juice were freely available on the main floor. The staff were also helpful. The economy room I had on the basement floor was basic, with a fridge, heater and WiFi. Although the heater was off, the room was boiling most of the time and to get a decent WiFi signal, you had to go upstairs or into the hallway.Cleanliness was an issue, with cobwebs and stained bedding. In general, the room's condition was quite poor and external noise could be heard through every adjoining face of the room. There was also a weird smell throughout and they didn't offer to make up the room until after the third night.I was expecting the worst from reading other reviews, but overall, the hotel served its purpose. Of course, it's only a 2-star so expectations should be realistic.

    Very Dirty

    rating17 May 2025

My room was extremely dirty, there were brown stains everywhere on my mattress sheet. I called them for cleaning it and replacing the sheets, but the replacement sheets were even dirtier with more stains. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but other than that, I wouldn’t really recommend it.

    Dirty rooms

The Location is Great, but the rooms are not, sheets are with bloody stains ...believe ne, is a shame since they could made an effort, it doesn't matter if is a modest hotel, but come on what could cost you to have a modest, simple room CLEAN.. they are taking advantage of the location giving you the worst room ever, I have to ask to turn in the A/C really??? Thanks God it was only 1 night.. we really don't recommend this place at all.

    Run away don't walk.

    rating21 Aug 2023

No control over heat or AC, indigents on front step smoking cigarettes and pot, miserable unfriendly old man at the front desk.Stayed here for three days, it was the worst decision I ever made. Loud slamming steel fire doors at all hours of the night, government immigrant flop house. If you have any self dignity, you might want to consider staying else where.
