    Comfortable hotel with Great Concierge

    rating12 Apr 2026

I traveled on a last-minute, first time trip from the US to Montreal for Spring Break with my teenage kids. The best choice I made was selecting Montreal Marriott Chateau. The hotel itself was nice with convenient amenities and located in a prime location for an out-of-towner looking to get a glimpse of the city over 3-4 days, but what really elevated my experience was the service. I cannot say enough about the treatment, especially the concierge, Ian. Ian took my trip from zero to hero. Through patient conversations, he was able to clearly understand what I wanted out of my visit and offered a wonderful itinerary, from which my family had a wonderful time. I cannot say enough about the options and guidance he provided. Additionally, Maxim at the front desk went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed the city like a local, and even went out of his way for me to find my way to a craft beerin store after asking a simple question. It was a trip that went better than I expected and really appreciate the impact the staff at this hotel had on my family's experience.

    Brrr to stomach growl

    rating27 Feb 2026

Not too far from Montreal Gare Central (Canadian National-ViaRail), the Marriott isn’t a comfortable walk in heels, but can be accessed by one or two local Metro stations (no tickets by Amex). This hotel is one of a number that are connected to PlaceDuCanada parking & Bonaventure station (orange line 1000 de la Gauchetiere below the bagel store), in front of remodelled old Windsor station & hockey Bell Centre. We checked in late with hotel staff who were friendly, and conferences were running on site, early in the morning. Even up above the tenth floor, we could hear the Metro trains below. The stone edifice is so thick that we could not GPS locate well, yet the sound of voices, doors/elevators was quite audible, as was the loud room fan. Nobody told us that a QR code’s needed to adjust the thermostat so we froze; the phone to the front desk was not working either. The best thing was Nespresso coffee in the bar facing the glass-door shower room (with no lock). Unless attending a Canadiens game, I would say it’s fine accommodations for a family with toddlers but not much older, as the hotel’s removed from Ste. Catherine and all the cafes at McGill College Ave. or activities around Quartier des Spectacles. If Lloyd Cafe is too noisy for breakfast (not included), downstairs, in the hallway behind there Place du Canada has a stand that sells juices or else cafeteria-style Mavii (11:00-3:00). A block or two further by Windsor-Bell Ctr. there’s a McDonalds for late night/wee hours’ hunger pangs. Montreal’s a city worth exploring, though, so stay & check out the diverse cultural fare! Room temperature is set to 25 degrees celsius and impossible to bring lower. Bad sound proofing, too much noise.

    rating13 Feb 2026

Bad sound proofing and the thermostat broken! The room was too hot to sleep in comfortably, it was 25 degrees celsius and the thermostat was broken and couldn't lower the temperature Chateau Champlain, Owner at Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain, responded to this review Dear 432jinag,Thank you for your feedback. We are truly very sorry that your stay was impacted by the room temperature and the noise. Please accept our sincere apologies for the discomfort this caused you.We completely understand how difficult it is to rest in a room that is too warm, especially with a thermostat that was not working properly. This is not the experience we want for our guests, and we deeply regret the inconvenience. The issue has been reported to our maintenance team to ensure it is resolved promptly.Regarding the noise, some of our rooms can be slightly noisier depending on their location in the hotel, and we are truly sorry if this disturbed your sleep. If you give us the pleasure of welcoming you again, we would be more than happy to allocate you a quieter room and ensure you enjoy a much more comfortable and pleasant stay.Once again, we sincerely apologize and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back under much better conditions.Kind regards,Front desk management

Huge hotel with beautiful rooms, a restaurant, and meeting facilities

    rating01 Feb 2026

I was there for a two-day meeting. Getting from the parking lot to reception was confusing, so be patient; there are elevators.Food during the meeting and at the restaurant was classy and flavourful. No complaints. The conference room was too cold the first morning, then too hot. The audio-visual system were well. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower in the room was fantastic with full body jets. The room was perfect! The location right downtown with access to the subway directly from the premises was a perk. If you have the budget, I’d definitely recommend.

    Great stay!

    rating27 Dec 2025

While it's not a château in the typical sense, it was a "modern" railway hotel when it was built. It has undergone a massive renovation a few years ago. Glad to see it done. The shower power is the best of any hotels I've ever stayed at. The beds were firm, which I like. The five elevators serving 30+ floors were fast. It also has direct access to the underground city via Metro Bonaventure. Great for winter. The only con of this visit was that the lounge was overcrowded and wasn't staffed properly. I overheard that only one worker was on duty. There were also a lot of families accessing the space for breakfast. Chateau Champlain, Owner at Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain, responded to this review Dear savvy_traveller175,Thank you very much for taking the time to share about your experience with us.We’re delighted to read that you appreciated the recent renovation, the comfort of our beds, the water pressure in the showers, the efficiency of our elevators, and the convenient access to the underground city. It’s wonderful to know these elements contributed positively to your experience. We do, however, sincerely regret the inconvenience you experienced at the lounge. We understand how important a comfortable and well-managed lounge environment is, particularly during breakfast hours. Your comments regarding overcrowding and staffing levels have been shared with our management team. We are actively reviewing our access controls to ensure the lounge remains an enjoyable and exclusive space for our eligible guests.Thank you again for both your positive feedback and your constructive comments. We truly appreciate them, as they help us improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide an even better experience.Kindly,
