    Save Yourself the MiseryI don’t write bad reviews often, but Auberge Les Bons Matins earned this one.We booked what was advertised as a suite — complete with a fireplace and jetted tub — for $185/night. What we got was something else entirely.Upon arrival, a contractor was actively repairing the water heater. Hoses snaked through the property and down the metal spiral staircase — the same treacherous, narrow staircase we had to haul our luggage up just to reach our room. That staircase, by the way, is conveniently absent from the listing. It’s steep, it’s metal, it’s outside, and it’s genuinely unsafe. Anyone with mobility concerns, heavy bags, or basic self-preservation instincts will not enjoy it.The fireplace? Broken. The jetted tub? Presumably decorative. The bed? A sagging, unsupported disaster that guaranteed a bad night’s sleep regardless of everything else.But the crown jewel of this experience was the complete absence of hot water — not just on arrival, but for the entire stay. We made multiple emergency calls and texts to staff. They were unresponsive. No apology, no solution, no acknowledgment.At $185 a night, you expect the basics: a bed you can sleep in, water you can shower with, and someone who answers the phone when things go wrong. This property delivered none of those. The listing is misleading, the maintenance is deferred, and the staff is absent when it counts.Avoid.

    It all started when we when arrived and stepped over about 30 bags of trash in front of the entry way to our door. During our stay, we encountered multiple safety concerns as well as several amenities that were not functioning as advertised. Most troubling was the complete lack of on-site staff availability. We attempted to reach staff twice in person and also called the listed emergency number, but no one answered. As guests currently staying at the property, this left us without any support.After multiple attempts to contact someone during our stay (in person, via main phone, emergency phone and via messenger), the manager finally returned our call approximately 4.5 hours after we had already checked out. Unfortunately, the conversation was extremely unprofessional. Rather than asking about the concerns we experienced, the manager was dismissive and repeatedly interrupted while I was attempting to explain the situation. He was inconsiderate and hung up. Following the call, the manager contacted me through the Hotels.com messaging system and characterized the interaction in a way that misrepresented what occurred, suggesting instead that I was the one who had behaved poorly. I responded respectfully, reiterating that respectful communication and guest access to staff, especially when safety concerns are involved, should not be optional. His reply was to state that he would deny any future bookings from me and would contact Expedia to report me. When I said I could not stay there again or have friends stay, he wrote a very passive aggressive, unprofessional comment about how little he cared and that his business doesn’t rely on us. At no point did he ask what our concerns actually were, nor did he demonstrate any willingness to address the issues we experienced. His responses were defensive, dismissive, and completely lacking in professionalism or accountability.Guest safety and access to support should always be a priority in the hospitality industry. The absence of staff availability, combined with the manager’s behavior is deeply troubling. People are traveling alone and expect to feel safe and supported, not threatened. I would not recommend this property to anyone. Additionally, the property’s listing appears misleading with respect to available amenities and on site services and support.

    Worst customer service and will harass you if vou give bad review

    They will reach out to private messaging with personal insults for bad review. The hotel staff is quiet defensive with criticism and almost non existent aside from that. I have no problem with contactless check in but rather with their attitude towards customer which was completely rude and unprofessional. As a woman traveling alone, I didn't feel safe my basement room which was also assessable from street with glass door. The street has security issue with vehicle theft and break in to room where woman stay alone.

    A disappointing stay in downtown Montreal

    Hotel room was not clean. Nobody was on site the entire duration of our stay. Communication was impossible. We tried to reach the host and couldn’t. Found out they are only I’m main building from 4-700pm, yet were not there when we tried. My husband tried phoning their emergency number on our last day as we had issues due to major weather - they did not even answer! I received a phone call at 335pm asking if they could help me - knowing we had to check out at 1100am. I explained my frustration with never being able to speak with a single staff member in the 3 nights we stayed. I explained the unanswered call and he simply stated they saw the phone number but were dealing with cancellations because of the storm. I said I understood but when you have guests staying in your small hotel who are also impacted by the storm and are trying to reach them, the current guests should be a priority. He then HUNG UP on me. If I could rate this place a 0, I would. The location is great but the unprofessional staff and the dirty room with ZERO customer service make this place an absolute SKIP. For the price you pay, do yourself a favor and stay at a more reputable hotel. You’ll be much happier!!

    The man at reception was really nice and provided all the information necessary, very quick with it too which i appreciate. Location is perfect, right by the bell centre and metro! The room was so cozy although the bed wasnt comfy but thats because im difficult lol! Parking on site was easy to find and park in. Very convenient. Overall very satisfied with our stay! Will come again when were back in mtl.
