Location

This hotel is located near the highway to downtown Montréal. Guests will find restaurants, bars and shops in the Rockland Center. There is an underground/ overground station nearby. Guests have a choice of 101 non-smoking rooms located in a 4-storey main building and a 6-storey auxiliary building. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday.     Watch for unusual charges after check in

    No issues with the room- it was clean, updated. The hotel is an older building but at least the rooms and reception area have seen updates. Breakfast was included and didn’t leave us hungry. It was a bit odd having no meat at all.This is unfortunately all I have found that was good about the hotel so far in our stay as there have been several issues with check in and unauthorized charges on 2 separate credit cards. I noticed I was recharged $1951 again instead of just the $100 deposit. By the next morning, I was charged again on another card plus an extra $46.     While this hotel looks good on paper its quite deceiving. Rooms overall are ok. Worth mentioning is that in our room at least it was very difficult to adjust the shower temperature. Just a slight turn and it was either too hot or too cool. Bed quite comfy towels fluffy. The deceiving parts of the hotel are the pool which was only .85 meter high in all places. As well thete was a sewer smell in the pool room not sure if it was the sewer as pool is on basement. We thought the womans sauna wasnt working and used the men's lol. We later learned you had to push a button on the bottom of the heater to get it to work. There was no instructions about this button.Then the stated construction was stated to start at 9 but started at 8 am. Then the free breakfast that we were looking forward to, was absolutely awful.The boiled eggs were green inside. They were either old or reheated one too many days in a row.There was no meat option with several other guests expressing thier disappointment as well. They had kidney beans as a protein option!!!No cream for the coffee only milk or coffee mate. We definitely wont return and or put us off of Ramada hotels as an option for other trips.

    CONS: 1. The hotel is too far from downtown Montreal. At least 6 miles away with traffic on peak hours. The nearest decent food area and Walmart is at least one mile away. 2. The faux wood style ceramic tile floor is sticky/icky! Not sure if it’s dirty or the material used to clean it causes this. 3. The AC/heat unit is overhead and above one of the beds. That side get all the air blown to you. Ours was even a bit noisy. 4. Breakfast totally sucks. The lady in charge is not welcoming. It’s bad enough that it’s the same thing everyday, but worse, there’s no protein/meat (suspect beans is passed off as protein). One day, one tray of hot food was missing and the lady said that the cook’s shoulder hurts. Coffee is diluted and hopelessly weak. 5. The overall vibe of the hotel is gloomy and damp. In the breakfast room, some walls are black, with matching upholstery. The lobby is not welcoming at all. Stairs on the main entrance are filthy. The luminance and color of the bulbs adds to a somber mood and most of the walls just give you a heavy mood. Shame on Wyndham to stamp your name on this. 6. Other hotel occupants look really shady. PROS:1. It’s not a Travel Lodge or Motel 8.     1. We are both seniors with mobility issues. They assign room which requirements to carry luggage up a flight of stairs!2. Elevators work but poorly. Inspection would surely fail.3. Pool should have been condemned, so merky i could not see bottom. The health department needs to get involved.4. Sauna is not functioning5.
