    The lobby bar was our go-to at night during our 4-day business tradeshow and meetings. Bartender Nicolas stile the show with his friendliness and professionalism behind the bar. Made each night fun for us. We all need bartenders like Nic!

    Wonderful stay with friends!

    Thanks to Emery and Leo at the front desk, I was able to have a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Laval. My friends and I were celebrating being friends and teachers for thirty years and wanted to celebrate together somewhere special since we don’t see each other often enough. The hotel granted me an upgrade (Titanium member) and club access. I know some say you are supposed to get those perks, but it isn’t always the case. We were kindly welcomed and received amazing service and newly decorated rooms. The Sheraton Club food was amazing and more than we expected for evening snacks and an awesome breakfast buffet. Thank you Sheraton Laval team for your care and professionalism!

    Polar Opposite of What It Used to Be (Good and Bad)

    For travel to Montreal without needing to be in Montreal proper, this hotel used to be a decent choice because it's cheaper than hotels downtown, because there no need to worry about parking, and because it avoids city traffic. When wanting to avoid city center, most chain hotels in the ring around Montreal are not full service (low-level brands like Fairfield, Courtyard, etc.); this Sheraton being one of the very few full service hotels in the suburbs so I liked it in the past. In my latest stay I was surprised to find that almost everything was the polar opposite of what it used to be in our previous visit before covid, some good, and some bad.Previously the hotel had very aging and depressing hardware and now it's fully renovated and looks very good. The hotel used to make up for bad hardware with great service and going above and beyond, for example with proactive premium suite upgrades as Bonvoy Ambassador Elite and allowing all guests in two rooms access to the lounge even though it's normally limited to one room. In contrast, for this stay everything was bare bones and sometimes even less than the required minimum. First off they went out of their way to say only myself plus one guest could go to the lounge. Breakfast in the restaurant was continental only, in the purest sense of the word, so it follows Bonvoy's terms and conditions to a T and not an iota more, unlike most hotels who almost always have something hot on offer. For that reason we went to the lounge instead, but I wish we could have had a better choices in the restaurant. Last but not least, neither rooms were upgraded upon check-in despite a gazillion room types being available online. It rarely happens as Ambassador Elite anywhere we go to NOT receive any upgrade, but when it does, at least hotels try to pretend that they could not see my status. Not here: clearly I was welcomed as Ambassador but given keys to two standard rooms which sticks out like a sore thumb compared to other Bonvoy hotels elsewhere. I then asked about upgrades and they ended up giving a studio suite for one of the two rooms. So overall the hotel is ok, when I compare to Hilton Laval nearby the rooms at Sheraton now look better, but I cannot shake the feeling that we did not particularly feel welcome and that the hotel does not really want guests who are Platinum and above because the hotel has to provide benefits. This kind of hotel would be better suited if they operated as independent and not belong in a chain hotel. The hotel should not expect to get the benefit of getting more customers due to being part of Bonvoy, while being reluctant to provide the benefits. In other words, they cannot have their cake and eat it too. But that's what they seem to try. That's unfortunate.     Convenient location, decent stay, needs some updates.

    The room is decent size. Also, the lobby is beautiful, but some of the rooms and hallways could use updates. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay, especially given its convenient location near many shops. The pool and gym are well-maintained, and free parking is a plus. A solid option if you’re not too particular about the ambiance.
