  Smelly room

  Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing because it had a strong smell of cigarette smoke mixed with what seemed like fresh paint or an attempt to cover up the odor. It made the room feel unpleasant and difficult to fully relax in. The room also could have been cleaner. One suggestion I would make is to ensure rooms smell fresh and clean—or at the very least not like smoke—and to improve overall room cleanliness.

  Amazingly spacious room with parking outside the patio door!

  We stayed at the Travelodge Welland and booked room 109 which is the handicapped accessible suite. It had all the necessities we needed and even though the decor was drastically outdated and it could use a coat of paint that didn't take away from the fact the room was VERY clean, spacious and exactly what we needed. We brought out dog with us and that meant we needed room for her crate. There was plenty of room to set up her crate without having to feel cramped. The bathroom was large and spacious, clean and had shampoo, soap and lotion in it. Towels were folded neatly and smelled clean. The floors were clean and the bed was clean. We only seen 3 pillows on the bed which we found odd, but it worked out just fine. We should have called down for more towels but since I was the only one that would have used 2 towels (decided to just use one to be fair lol) it worked out in the long run. The tv is kinda small for the room size but again it worked and was newer so the colour was bright and nice. The remote worked which was nice for a switch in some motels they barely work. The pull out couch was very old and uncomfortable to sit on but most are due to them doubling as a bed as well. If I had to suggest anything to the location itself, I'd say replace it with something more modern looking, along with a coat of white paint to brighten up the look of the room itself. The dark grey colour choice in paint does nothing for the look of the room in general and the black out curtains are great if you want to sleep in. The parking for our suite was great as it was right outside of our patio door. So once checked in we were able to unload the car right into our room via the patio door and that also made it easy for letting the dog in and out to the bathroom. Plus I am a smoker so I was able to walk out the patio door and across to the small grass area to have a smoke. I don't smoke in the car or the room obviously so I had no issue walking away from the property for that reason. I respected their policy and made sure to keep the area clean. Others didn't pick up after their dog on that grass patch mind you so watch where you walk! I had my doggy poop bag with me but I refused to pick up after others. I did however take care of my own dog! They charge a $20 fee for having the dog stay in the room mind you but to me that was more than worth it.

  Absolutely Awful!

  Do not want to leave even 1 star!!! Absolutely awful! So many things that were not acceptable. Mold in the bathroom, dirty bedding, mold in air conditioner, dirty walls, pat h work repairs and what looked liked body count on back of bathroom door. Hotel nor 3rd party app did nothing to rectify this stay! At a cost of $220 a night and we had to stay for 2 due to son's tournament, we tried to leave and swallow the cost but nothing was available anywhere else. This place should be closed down.

  Hotel in bad shape, but staff nice.

  Room was in terrible shape; partially broken door, bathroom door not able to close, no toilet paper holder, lamp shades damaged, fridge noisy, etc. Doors to room area had no locks or card reader on them. Would not recommend until they spend money to bring the hotel up to a basic spec.

  OK for hockey tournament hotel, wouldn't choose for family vacation

  Front desk staff were polite and knowledgeable. Check in and check out were easy. Room was clean. The room rate reflects the expectations for the hotel. Asked for more towels, but did not receive them. TV picture and sound were sub-par. Not enough electrical outlets or charging stations for our devices.
