Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. This hotel will scam you and you will be faced with hidden fees and cheaper packages when booked with Expedia. The GM - Kim is no help and super rude who is also accusatory. Their front desk manager - sona is also useless. Just look at the way she responds to guests they have a critical feedback. Zero accountability and all fluff. They scammed me out of money and will not refund. I also asked for the regional director/rvp’s contact to no avail. If Kim is so worried about this escalated to her boss then maybe she should take customers complaints more seriously. Once this was brought to our attention, the charge was identified as an error and was corrected promptly.With regard to parking, our standard check-in process includes asking guests whether they require parking. Had parking been requested at check-in, our team would have provided the applicable instructions and advised of the hotel's parking rate. As parking was obtained independently in the adjacent public parking garage, the public parking rate was applied by the garage.We certainly regret any confusion or inconvenience these circumstances may have caused. The hotel itself is clean and our room has been comfortable, but overall I’ve been disappointed by how stingy the experience feels for the price and the DoubleTree by Hilton name.Everything seems to be the bare minimum. We called for more toilet paper and were brought one single roll. We ordered food in and asked the front desk for disposable cutlery. We had to go downstairs to get it, were given exactly one set, and the employee commented that getting it was “quite the task.” You can’t even have bottled water brought to your room and charged to your account.Parking is $33 a day in a public garage. We have an oversized vehicle that has to park on a specific level, and staff seemed confused about which elevators or stairwells we were supposed to use. I understand the garage is separate from the hotel, but if this is the parking option offered to guests, staff should at least be able to explain how it works.On their own, none of these things are a huge deal. But we stayed here for a full week for a conference, and all of these little inconveniences added up. By the end of the stay, we were genuinely just ready to leave. I had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Ottawa, and I truly felt at home from the moment I arrived. I especially want to recognize **Hisham**, who went above and beyond to make my stay absolutely perfect. His kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made such a difference. He made me feel truly welcomed and taken care of. I also want to thank **Arsh**, who was incredibly thoughtful and arranged for a cart with some lovely sweets to be sent to our room for my birthday. It was such a beautiful and unexpected gesture that made the celebration even more special. Beyond these two wonderful team members, all of the staff we encountered were incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. The level of hospitality was exceptional, and it is clear that the team genuinely cares about their guests. Good location close to Byward Market and the university. Parking is $33 a day in the parking garage across the street. Rooms were nice and comfortable but very tight.
