    The hotel was hosting a large group of young lacrosse players attending a tournament in the city, and unfortunately the behaviour throughout the property was completely out of control.Children were running up and down the hallways unrestrained late into the evening and early in the morning. At one point, nets were actually set up in the second-floor hallway and a lacrosse game was taking place indoors. It was unbelievable that this was allowed to continue without intervention from hotel management.To make matters worse, there was absolutely no hot water in the morning, making it impossible to shower.Before checking out, we attempted to have breakfast in the restaurant, where food was being served buffet-style. Young kids were reaching into the bacon container with their bare hands, which was completely unsanitary and unacceptable. We immediately decided to leave and went to a local restaurant instead.What was most disappointing was tr parent lack of any management presence or effort to monitor and correct behaviour throughout the hotel.     Stayed here 5 nights. I can not recommend this property as it is extremely run down and poorly managed.     Do not accept a ground floor pool view room. This is a room with a view of an inside pool which not only reeks of chlorine but has bright lights lighting up the room from the pool area until after midnight. Worst nights sleep of a three week road trip exacerbated by door showing signs of being kicked open previously. Staff were uninterested in hearing about it.Plus point - lovely lady in reception on arrivalBreakfast was poorly stocked and lukewarm so would advise to stay and or elsewhere. Lots of drug deals witnessed at Tim Hortons opposite where homeless people were gathering. Wasnt cheap either!     Disappointed with Being Forced to book 2 nights or no room

    I had a poor experience with your customer service on Sept. 22nd at 8:30pm as I was trying to book a hotel room for 1 night on Nov. 15th. I was told it was sold out UNLESS I wanted to book 2 nights, which I did not. My call sounded like it was coming from a call centre, I was not impressed.As an IHG member, I'll be staying elsewhere going forward.     I wish to report some extraordinarily bad customer service from your reservation agent A25303 around 16:46, 2025/09/03. The line quality was poor; sound was blurred and there were other voices audible in the conversation (as if it were a call centre). The agent got my e-mail address wrong twice, and mis-entered the dates I wanted to stay. Then, after more than 15 minutes on the line, he informed me that the hotel (Peterborough Ontario Holiday Inn) was fully booked unless I wanted to stay two nights. This is customer service? Not at any place I want to stay.
