    I recently attended a gala event at this location . The food was excellent , the service terrific . I would recommend using this venue for a banquet, wedding etc. Wes and his team were excellent to plan the event with and my expectations were very high and they delivered!     Large but aging hotel

    This is a large and aging hotel. It may not look like it from the lobby, but once you get inside your room and the pool area, you can tell. The carpet that leads outside your room door to the pool if you have a pool view tells you everything right there. I used both restaurants (Tavern United and Alto’s) which were both fine. Definitely in need of a refresh, though.

    Our group stayed here this past weekend and had a wonderful experience! With blizzards and highway closures not once but twice, the hotel staff was calm and so helpful and accommodating. Plus, hosting multiple hockey teams and other groups. With the hotel being sold out, they provided blankets and pillows to stranded people and let them sleep on the hallway couches and chairs. The restaurant staff were very busy but also very friendly and helpful. Even the housekeepers were great! Honestly, this hotel knows how to handle multiple groups and they stayed calm and professional in the midst of chaos!

    To the exceptional team at Canad Inns Portage la Prairie. So grateful for your exceptional hospitality during our unexpected stay when due to a blizzard the Highway number 1 closed. We were placed on a waiting list hoping for reservation cancellations ...they informed us that there were 35 people on the list ahead of us. One hour later we were moved to a ballroom and served coffee, hot chocolate, fruit and snacks. Big screen TV's were on for our entertainment. We really appreciated the restaurant on site. They accommodated a lot of families and made everyone feel welcome.

    My wife and I recently travelled to Portage La Prairie to explore the surrounding area and its rich history. The Canad Inn was recommended to us by acquaintances, and we’re very glad we took their advice.At first glance, we were a little unsure about the hotel’s age, but as soon as we stepped inside and saw the grand entrance and were greeted by the helpful, friendly staff, our concerns quickly disappeared. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet — exactly what we needed for a restful night.Although we didn’t dine on-site, we heard we missed out on an excellent prime rib dinner. The staff more than made up for it with their warm hospitality and great local tips. They even pointed us toward the hotel’s fun “giant Coke can” attraction out back — perfect for a tourist photo stop.A special mention goes to Ashley, whose excellent service truly stood out. When my wife realized she had left behind a personal item, Ashley quickly arranged to have it shipped back to us, which turned a good stay into a great one.If you’re traveling through Portage La Prairie, I highly recommend giving the Canad Inn a try. You won’t be disappointed. We’ll definitely be looking forward to staying here again on our next visit.
