    The Super 8 chain in Canada is turning into one that gives you the basics, but just slightly more. This hotel in Portage la Prairie exemplifies that. It is a bit older, but still decent for a short stay in Portage, no matter what your purpose. It does the job. The rooms are ok. The breakfast is basic, but it does exist. The pool is open, they open the waterslide on request, and the hot tub works fine. It is furthest out on the west edge of town. If you need basic, no frills accommodation at a decent price, the Super 8 will fit the bill. It is not the nicest place in town to stay, but it works.

    Very friendly staff. The hotel is a bit dated but our kids loved the waterslide. They were quick to help us with everything we needed.

    Clean, friendly, and nice breakfast! Highly recommend staying here when going to Portage. The pool was nice and fun for the kids. The hot tub was ok but all we needed after a long day at the rink.

    Great rooms, friendly staff, pool, hot tub and good breakfast too! Surrounding area is also very quiet so made for a good sleep
