  Deceptive Experience and Unacceptable Management at Econo Lodge Prince George AVOID at All Costs

  My family booked a non-smoking room (263) at Econo Lodge Prince George, BC, through Booking.com, expecting a clean, safe stay as depicted in the website’s photos. Instead, we were met with a filthy, deceptive reality that made our stay intolerable, especially with a young child. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, with a burnt doorknob, ash scattered on the bed alongside a dangerous screw, there’s an outlet with no cover that could easily electrocute someone, especially a child and a balcony table covered in ash. The bathroom was disgustingly unclean, the desk chair had a questionable large stain, and the microwave door was broken with a sharp crack and a big rusty scratch inside. It was clear the room hadn’t been cleaned, posing health and safety risks.When we raised these issues with the manager, his response was appalling. He was unapologetic, arrogant, and refused to take accountability. When asked about the ashes on the bed and balcony, he dismissively said, “How am I supposed to know? I have over 60 rooms to handle.” When questioned about the stark mismatch between the website’s photos and the room’s actual condition, or who uploaded those misleading images, he offered no response. He refused a refund, claiming we had to deal with Booking.com, despite Booking.com requiring his approval for any resolution. He even claimed he’d be comfortable sleeping in that filthy room himself, showing a complete disregard for guest satisfaction. No alternative room was offered due to the hotel being fully booked for an event.Customer service should be simple: own your mistakes, take accountability, and make things right for guests with valid complaints. This manager’s ego-driven refusal to do so not only ruined our stay but reflects poorly on Canada’s hospitality industry, potentially deterring tourists. We were forced to endure an unsafe, unclean environment, and no family should face this. DO NOT BOOK here. Avoid this hotel until serious changes are made to its management and standards.

  good safe warm place to spend the night

  Very nice beds, Room was very clean and warm, compared to the wet frezing temepratures outside. Good stock of Toiletries, good desk staff, close to downtown, had a hot coffee in the morning, a very good sleep, would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget.

  We enjoyed our stay there, like we always do, but this time we didn't. I was shocked to see this lady in room 128, she's a prostitute, we've seen many guys of different race going in to her room, of all hours of the day/night. A guy came out, saw my husband standing there smoking and says to him your next, she's waiting. like are you kidding me. The hotel is going to loose business, if anyone with children that check into that hotel and see what's going on. I think were going to stay else where now, we were their regular customers there. sad to say...

  Renovated room, clean and comfortable. Yes the area is stretchy but that’s not the fault of the hotel Durning the night a night clerk had to tell a homeless person to leave private property No damage was done to our car or room We didn’t feel threatened I feel very bad for the management and staff that deals with this constantly

  Basic, Will Try to Upcharge You, But Be Aware of the Druggies Around the Property

  The rooms are spartan, but basic and usable; the surroundings, however, are not the most pleasant. Expect to find panhandlers, tweekers, druggies, all around, and they WILL approach you as you carry your luggage to the hotel. If that makes you uncomfortable, you may want to find a property further away from this part of town!
